My heart jumped into my throat and I swallowed hard at it. I caught Dawson's gaze through the rearview mirror. He had a lopsided grin on his face. He was enjoying this.I feigned ignorance and countered. "And why is that? What makes you think I did that!?'"The smell!" He gritted out his eyes full of suspicion.My gaze never wavered as I peered into his. "I did no such thing. I don't even know what you're talking about!''I slapped his hand over my wrist and climbed out of the car.A tall and exquisite building met my gaze and I couldn't help being marvelled at the beauty of the pace.So, this was the famous dark moon pack? And the four ruthless Alphas that dominated the pack are my mates?"You can get in when you're done gawking!" Dawson said as he walked past me. "A maid will take you to your room."They left one after the other, leaving me to admire the beauty. Later in the room, I had settled down and all the events of today played before me. It felt like a dream. I was finally free from Dad, Harper and Amelia's torture and belittling.Dusk was already setting in and my stomach growled as I caught the aroma of grilled meat. I inhaled the aroma but that only made my stomach rumble the more."Dinner is ready," A voice said at the door and I stiffened.It was the maid who had shown me to my room earlier. "We call the Alphas, four archangels here and that's because they're so sexy. Alpha Dawson is the eldest but he's rarely interested in any girl. We've all been trying to get him to sleep with us, but he just seems not interested."My breath hitched in me as her words sank in. Does that mean he had an interest in only me? Could it be part of her silly trucks again?I scowled at the phone and said with a stiff voice. "What do you want?"Then I heard her silent sobs. "What's the matter?"She sniffled. "It's Dad. Doctor says he has only today to live. It's very terrible. I think you should come see him before he dies."My heartbeat accelerated and was beating two strokes at a time. I knew I should be less concerned about the monster of a father who treated me like a slave.But I wasn't.The thought of him dying made me feel miserable. What could have suddenly gone wrong. He seemed quite healthy yesterday.I grabbed a car key in the living room and quickly found the car in the garage. Once inside the car, the car's engine roared to life as I made my way hastily to the shadow pack."What did you say is wrong with Dad?" I asked Amelia immediately I walked in through the door.She had a smirk on her face as she went past me and bolted the door. "Oh dear Ava, to think you could be so gullible." She snickered.I was alarmed immediately. This crazy bitch had something under her sleeves. "What are you trying to do!" I hollered."Have a seat, Ava and stop being such an ass!" Dad scolded behind me and I faced him."You are all on this! You already sold me out. What more do you want!" I flared up as I felt my face flame hot with anger."How dare you address the alpha of your pack that way!?" Harper's voice shot out as she lunged at me.She raised her hand to smack me across the face but I held her hand in place. "Don't you dare!" I growled, my eyes glistened savagely.She seemed taken aback. I had never for once stopped her from hitting me. I had always received all their maltreatment without any fuss."Listen, Ava. I know we've all wronged you but this will be the last I ask you for."I remained silent and he continued."Could you switch places with your sister? Both of you look alike and the Sebastian brothers won't even find out, I promise."My head reeled as I tried to comprehend what Dad had just said. I didn't know whether to cry or laugh. Help them? He's got to be kidding me."Dad promised to give you the money he took from the Sebastian brothers and make you his heiress." She said in a strange voice.I shook my head and sprang to my feet. "I won't do it!" I declared and started towards the door.My hand was in the doorknob, ready to open it, I felt a sharp tug at my hair. I spun on my heels to face Amelia. She had a murderous intention written boldly on her face and my heart sank when I saw the same expression on Dad and Harper's face.She glared at me. "Since you're not going to let go easily, then guess what, we can just make you legally disappear!"
