RAYELL.
The Alpha smiled at my response and it helped me to relax my stiff shoulders. I had not even thought that this would be my decision at the end of the day.
Agreeing to an arranged marriage.
"You won't regret your decision, Rayyel." The Alpha said and I nodded at him, hoping it would be as he had said. But at the back of my mind, I already knew that it would not be so easy.
It was the Alpha we were talkinv about, not some unknown commoner.
The next minute, he called my Dad to come over, so that they could discuss about the mating date and the arrangements needed.
I was caught off guard about the rapid procession of things, I had thought that the mating would only be in the next two months but I was wrong once again.
My Dad came in not much longer and they started discussing, leaving me out of it and ignoring my presence.
The Alpha would ask for my opinion once in a while but my Dad would protest with a strict voice.
"She would soon be your wife so she had to go with whatever you say, she does not have the right to refuse you." he said and I lowered my head while gritting my teeth.
Why was he talking like I was nothing but a bargaining chip?
The Alpha just shook his head at my Dad's statement and smiled but continued to ask for my opinion every chance he got and I appreciated the feeling of being acknowledged.
As they discussed, they both fixed the mating in one week time leaving no room for adjustments or any other thing.
It was my mating ceremony, My marriage, but I really had no say in it and I was helpless. I had envisioned how my dream marriage would be.
It was not supposed to be like this.
Dad was supposed to be happy and smiling as it was my mating they were talking about, but his face was devoid of any emotion as though it was just a normal event.
Was he just using me?
Did he just want to send me away?
These thoughts came to my mind once in awhile but I pushed it away.
It could not be the truth right?
He should still have a soft spot for his only daughter.
My life would change the moment I get mated to Alpha Phoenix but at least I would be free from the torment at home.
The only thing that is bothering me was how I was going to spend the rest of my life with the Alpha. He was a nice person but I did not love him and I had never seen my husband in him.
But now, I have to marry him even though I had decided not to marry a man that I do not love.
Fate could be funny sometimes.
What I know is that, after the mating, I would finally get the freedom that I have been yearning for all along but with the identity of the Luna.
When My Dad and the Alpha finished talking, I bidded the Alpha and left together with my Dad with a downcast expression.
With my mouth mute, I entered his car and he drove off.
I knew he would not talk as usual, so I just turned my head to the window and watched tge scenery outside, deep in thoughts. That was when my Dad's voice suddenly rang in my ears.
"Why didn't you tell me that you were going to the Alpha's mansion?" he asked, his voice deeper than usual and I turned to look at him.
I had planned to end everything and clear all the misunderstanding between me and the Alpha without his knowing, because I knew that he would not like it. He wanted me to get married to the Alpha and be mated to him but he knew that I was against it, so he wanted to force me.
I had thought that after telling the Alpha that I was not interested on marrying him, he would talk to my Dad about it and everything would end there.
But, my plan did not work and I ended up agreeing to the mating myself because I had no choice and that there was nothing else I could do.
If I wanted to get my revenge on that witch, Linda, I would have to have a high status and power to do so. My Dad was a very reputable person in the pack and his mate too, so dealing with her would not be easy if I was powerless and do not have any power backing me up.
But, with the power and position of the Luna, I should be able to deal with her and those that have mocked me and looked down on me. I might be a weak omega but I was unique in my own way.
"I just wanted to use the chance to see him." I replied to my Dad, whose face became darker in anger.
"To see him or to reject the marriage?" he questioned and I lowered my head.
He already knew.
"I did not want to marry him." I whispered and he snorted.
"Even if I have to force you or do any other thing, you must agree to the marriage. I do not care whether you are willing or not, you have to marry him." he said calmly and I stared at him in terror.
Why was he so adamant about my marriage with the Alpha?
Why was he doing this?
"But...Dad.. why are you doing this? I do not love him...." I said with tears brimming in my eyes, trying to make him reason with me.
I already agreed to the marriage and will not change my mind again, but I wanted to see what his reaction would be.
Would he sympathize with me and change his mind?
"Do you think I care if you do? what I know is that, you have to marry him and I do not want to know how." he replied coldly and I clenched my fists tightly to stop myself from lashing out at him.
A teardrop rolled down my cheek slowly and I quickly turned to the window so that he would not see the fall of my tears.
"I understand." I mumbled underneath my breath and he nodded heavily.
"Very well." his face was still as calm as before, there were no ripples on them and it made me wonder if he was just deceiving my mom when she was still alive and the days they were married.
Was he really my Father?
Was this his true colour?
Silence resumed into the car after he said that but my heart was in turmoil.
It seems he already had everything planned.
The moment we got home, I ran into my room and wept into the pillow.
I was tired of being useless, tired of being helpess and tired of been ordered to do something.
My life had always revolved around those three things.
I was still crying when I suddenly heard the voice of Linda from the sitting room, it seems she was having an argument with my Dad.
"Never, I will not agree to it. Why should she get married to the Alpha? just get her married to some guy and send her away, why should it be with the Alpha?" Linda roared and I scoffed.
She did not want me to be happy and she felt like I would be happy if I get married to the Alpha, the selfish woman wanted me to suffer.
"Listen to me Linda, it is for the best." My Dad tried to explain and I cringed at how gentle his voice sounded that moment.
He had only talked to my Mom and I in that kind of tone when i was still young, but now it changed.
Was he not the one behaving such cruelly to me earlier?
He suddenly changed when he started talking to that woman.
So ironic.
This time, I felt bad for my Mom, she had been living in an illusion for years, thinking this two-faced man loves her but it was a lie.
My poor Mother.
"You did not even seek for my opinion before introducing her to the Alpha, how could you do that to me? Don't I deserve to know something of such importance?" Linda said again, her voice trembled this time like she was about to cry and I nearly laughed in jest.
Such an actress.
"I have already decided on the Mating day with the Alpha, it can no longer be changed, I also did not plan on keeping the matter from you but I had to be fast about it." My Dad told her.
"But, why do you want her to be mated to the Alpha?" Linda asked and I strained my ears to listen.
I also wanted to know why he decided to match-make me with the Alpha of all people, what made him think of the Alpha as my husband?
He was out of my league in every way possible.
So, I was confused why he came to that decision all of a sudden.
"The reason is that I...... let's go inside." he suddenly stopped talking and everywhere became silent, then I heard the sound of the door banging.
Sighing, I walked back to my bed and laid down, I had wanted to know the reason why he wanted me to be together with the Alpha, but he was too secretive.
And it confused me.
What was he hiding?
Rayell POVI have been trapped in this dark, endless void for what feels like an eternity.Kai had trapped me in a cage. And when he did come back to remove me from the cage. I did not have the strength to even get out of it.My body was all covered with goo and slimes. And my breath was short.I knew I had only a short time to live. And all I could do is think of was callox.Thoughts of him were what made the whole torture bearable. It was the faint glow that made my spark not to die.Suddenly, a gentle voice whispers in my mind. “Lady Rayell.”I turned around. But nobody was there. The voice was a soft, melodious voice, unlike anything I’ve ever heard before.“Who is it?”“I’m Princess Diane from the Bluebird Village, and I have come to help you connect back to your lover.”Confusion filled me.“To callox?”“Yes.”“Why can’t I see you?”“That isn’t important. What is that I can get you to see your lover?”“Can you at free me from this torment instead?”“I’m afraid I can’t. The dama
Allen POVI had left the palace feeling very angry. I couldn’t believe just how selfish the king was.He had another chance to make everything right. And he was still just concerned about his lady!I should have advocated for him to be removed. We needed a Lycan king who would protect his pack. His kingdom. Not a weakling.Well, it seemed I would have to handle things on my own.The moon goddess had been furious at me, and that was cause she had to face queries with the higher-ups in the heavens. The weapon I had been working on to use against Kai had been a total failure. The number of wolves dying was increasing massively. I felt really stuck. I was going through some books to see if I could find anything that would help. But so far, it had just been useless.I was still scaling through the books when one of my servant boys came barging into my chambers.“My lord.” He greeted.“What is it? I told you I didn’t wish to be disturbed.”“I apologize. But there is a woman at the gate. S
Callox POVI waited for Allen in the royal halls. While the guards packed up the dead bodies on the floor. When Allen came in. He had a very very grim expression.“Good day. Sire.” He bowed.“How bad is it?”He sighed. “The moon goddess and the entire heaven are angry with us. At our way of defeating Kai. They wanted to wipe out the whole of the Lycan kingdom. But I had to plead that we are given some time before they do so.”“And did they answer?”“Yes. However it is a very short limited time of two weeks.”I sighed. As if life couldn’t get any more harder.“Rayell went crazed. I believe it's cause of Kai.”“You are right. She did go crazed cause of Kai. He has been triggered.”“How is this impossible? I thought you got rid of him?”“I subdued him. I was trying to form a sword that would finally exterminate him from her. However, I do not think it’s possible anymore.”“What do you mean?”“For Kai to be killed. Rayell is going to have to die.”That statement sounded like a death sente
Callox POVI have been searching for rayell for days now. And yet every one of my searches had proved abortive. And the more I couldn’t find her. The more I went crazier. I wondered what on earth I was to do with this information.I had started shouting and sleepless nights. My mind felt like it was in a jumbled state. Sometimes I end up wallowing in bed. And Crying about everything. In the meantime. I noticed my legs had gotten more responsive. And I was even able to stand.Which was quite a lot. The cure was indeed working. However, I didn’t feel happy about it, cause she wasn’t here to share in the joy with meLiam helped with my leg routine every morning. Teaching me how to get used to my legs and all. However, I didn’t care much about it. Cause It felt like life had suddenly become to difficult to live in. In her absence.I was dying of fear and worry as to whether she was fine or not.Or if she needed me! I also felt immense guilt for not being able to stand up and defend her l
Rayell POVI had been staying at the cottage house for three days now. And I was already tired of the routine living style.Wake up, shower, eat, read some books, take a nap. A stroll. Read. Nap. Dinner. Then it goes on to repeat the whole actions over an over again. It was truly exhausting. I spent most of the time thinking of callox. To the extent that I started seeing him everywhere in the house.I felt I was going crazy at some point.I sat in the balcony of the cottage home. Taking in the fresh breeze and keeping time with reading.I was lost in it till elara came with a tray of snacks. She dropped it, did her courtesy greeting, and left. It’s how our lives have been. No talking or relations beyond that of a maid and her Lady.It was exactly like I had asked her to do. I felt bad about it. But it was for the best. After the snacks. I went back into my room and took an eventful nap. When I opened my eyes I noticed how clouded the place was.And how the wind was howling in the di
Callox POVI was pacing in the hallways. Still angry over Marcus' declaration. I couldn’t believe he had done that to his granddaughter. He had been cool with the idea of us being together. So why did he do that? After his declaration, the council, as usual, declined Rayell, who was my Luna.Though her name had been cleared, she could be in the palace. But I doubted that would feel like good news to Rayell.I wondered how she would feel about this. It sure would hurt her that her only family had been against the idea of her being happy.I fisted my hands, awaiting him. The council members came out of the meeting room. When Marcus saw me, he swallowed hard. It took everything in me not to snap the life out of his neck.Years of respect and the sacrifices he made to the royal family. Was what Kept me from doing so.“What was that for?”He ignored me and kept walking away.“I am talking to you!” I retorted in an authoritative tone.Which had him stopping.“It was needed.”“You destroyed
