I have been sitting on this for days now. Pacing, double-checking, cross-checking. My eyes hurt. My jaw is tight. I haven’t slept. Not really. Not without seeing her face.

I have the file open in front of me again, like some kind of idiot who doesn’t trust her own brain. But the signatures match. The timestamps are too perfect. And the facial software, hell, even that confirmed it with 94% certainty. But even without all the digital proof, I feel it. In her voice. The way she looks at me like she already knows what I will say. The way she walks like she is not scared of a single person in this world.
It is her. And she is back.

My phone vibrates and I pick it up immediately. I’m waiting for a sign. Something. Anything. I’m about to forward the file to Elena when another number flashes across the screen.

I don’t answer. I freeze.
