The ceremony was supposed to be a quiet one but my dad had helped a lot of people while he was alive, which made it hard to keep the ceremony small. I slid lazily into a long black dress and tied my hair up, applying really light makeup to hide the fact that I had been losing sleep.
I walked to the open grave with the little strength left in me, everyone else seated for the ceremony to begin. I stared into his casket seeing his lifeless body again, as tears welled up in my eyes, threatening to fall off. I reminisced briefly on all the moments we had spent together, how much he always made time for me , moments that were now memories that couldn't be relieved. A sob escaped my throat as I carefully placed the flowers in the casket before mounting the podium to speak.
“Today we gathered to celebrate A life well lived. To some of us he was a business partner, a friend, a boss, but to me he was a great father. My dad Declan Montero taught me everything about life, lo
