Before Abigail left, she wanted to go to the hospital and visit her grandma Vanessa Guzman for the last time.

In Ward 301 of the inpatient department in Shepard Hospital, a gray-haired old lady was lying in the hospital bed.

Due to the torment of the disease, she looked pale and skinny. The wrinkles on her forehead made her look a bit more haggard.

When Abigail opened the door and came in, Vanessa was still in a coma with her eyes closed.

As Abigail walked to Vanessa's bedside on tiptoe, she couldn't help but feel sad.

'Grandma used to be so energetic. Since when did she become so fragile?' she thought.

"Abigail." Randy Conrad, the young doctor who was rounding the ward, took a quick glance at her before continuing to write in the medical record. "You came just in time. We need to talk."

He put away his pen, raised his amicable face, and stared straight at her with a pair of charming eyes.

"None of the current heart medications works for her. Increasing the dosage worked before, but not anymore," Randy paused before he went on, "You know better than anyone else that the end-stage of heart failure means that her heart has reached its limit. And the damage is irreversible. The fact that she can survive until now is already a miracle..."

Before Randy finished his sentence, Abigail threw a small bottle over to Randy without taking her eyes off Vanessa.

"Heart Tonic Pill?" When Randy saw the thing in his hand clearly, he couldn't hide his shock. "Abigail, where did you even get that?"

'Isn't this the magical pills that has caused a big stir in the black market recently?' thought Randy. 'How did Abigail get it?'

"Considering how the Guzmans treat you, you've done enough for them. You don't have to..."

Before Randy could finish his words, he received a warning look from Abigail.

"I'm telling the truth! Even her son doesn't care about her as much as you..."

Six months ago, Randy had graduated from a top domestic medical university and came to the Shepard Hospital as an intern.

Born in a family of doctors, Randy was kind of arrogant and conceited even though he was new here. Yet when he met Abigail, he finally learned to be humble, for she was a doctor way better than him...

What impressed him the most was how Abigail saved Vanessa over and over again from death!

During the half-year internship, Randy had also witnessed how badly the Guzmans had been treating Abigail. Gradually, they got to know each other later on and became friends.

He knew that in Vanessa's case, it was best to have a heart transplant.

But she was an old lady with high blood pressure and heart failure... So surgery was not an option. Hopefully, the Heart Tonic Pill provided by Abigail could improve her physical condition so that she would be strong enough to make it through the surgery.

But the Guzman family didn't know about it, and they thought paying some money to keep Vanessa in the VIP ward was enough to keep her alive...

"The Guzmans definitely wouldn't spend 10 million on buying this."

"Just help me take care of Grandma, please." Abigail glanced at Vanessa and said with a heavy heart, "I should go now."

She shouldn't stay there anymore. If Vanessa woke up and saw her, she would definitely become emotional, which might deteriorate her condition and make things even worse.

Randy glanced at Abigail and said softly, "I've got her. Don't worry."

"Thank you." Abigail turned her eyes to Vanessa. Although she had a lot to say, she left Ward 301 in silence anyway.

At the same time, several doctors walked hurriedly, looking flustered.

"What's going on? Why did Sir Lucero's condition suddenly deteriorate?"

"It is said that Sir Lucero refused to take medicine, just to force Mr. Lucero to accept his contract marriage..."

"How could he do that?!"

Not long after Abigail left Ward 301, she suddenly bumped into one of the doctors.

They were rushing to Ward 306. When Abigail passed by, she happened to see that the old man on the hospital bed was dying.

"He stopped taking medicine without permission. He's risking his life!"

"What should we do now? Have you notified his family?"

"They're already on their way here. Now we can only wait for them to arrive before deciding whether to undergo the surgery or not..."

Standing at the door of Ward 306, Abigail casually reminded, "He won't even make it to the operation room."

It was said that his medical skills were extraordinary, capable of bringing the dead back to life. However, he was elusive, and no one knew his whereabouts.Since my grandparents were admitted to the ICU, he had sent people multiple times to inquire about Elian's whereabouts, hoping to ask him to come forward and save my grandparents. Some people said that he had already died, while others said that he had once appeared at Secret Delta.
