My Alpha mate Kieran ordered our eight-year-old son to burn my mother alive because his Omega assistant accused me of killing her pet dog out of spite. Kieran's eyes were filled with impatience and disgust. "You're supposed to be our pack's respected Luna. Why would you target an innocent Omega? Whatever harm her pet suffered, your mother will endure the same. Your mother is paying the price for your jealousy!" I fell to my knees, begging Kieran to spare my mother. But he commanded our seven-year-old son Owen to light the fire himself. My son didn't hesitate for a second as he threw the torch into the pile of wood. "That's what you get for always going against Aunt Sera!" I screamed and cried, desperately begging them to help me put out the flames. "Please, I'm begging you, take my mother to the healing center..." "Enough, Aria. Your mother is still lying in the hospital bed. That's just a training dummy. Stop putting on this pathetic act." After saying that, father and son walked away without looking back. They didn't know that it really was my mother burning in those flames. But when I finally gave up on them and left, why did they both come crawling back, begging me to return?
Chapter 1
1
My Alpha mate Kieran ordered our eight-year-old son to burn my mother alive because of his Omega assistant's lies.

I cried and begged the pack members around us to help me put out the fire.

"Mom—"

My mate and my own son, because of an Omega's lies and their complete lack of trust in me, really killed my mother who didn't have much time left anyway.

I stumbled and staggered as I lifted my mother's blood-soaked body onto my back, racing desperately toward the healing center.

My mother had already been poisoned with wolfsbane, losing her wolf and becoming extremely weak. Now, after being burned by those flames, I could feel her life slipping away bit by bit.

I carried my mother's charred body to the healing center, shouting loudly for a healer to come help.

But only a medical apprentice looked at me with difficulty.

"Don't shout, don't shout. All the healers are busy right now and don't have time for you. There's an Omega who fainted from excessive grief being treated in our facility, and the Alpha summoned all our healers to attend to her."

I placed my mother on a bed and ran like a madwoman to that room, wanting to beg them to save my mother's life.

But when I opened the door, I discovered that the important person was Kieran himself.

Sera was lying on the bed, with Kieran and Owen right there beside her. So he was the important person the apprentice mentioned, and Sera was the Omega who had fainted from grief.

I was supposed to be Kieran's mate, the pack's Luna, but right now they looked more like a family of three.

Sera instinctively leaned closer to Kieran.

"Aria, it's bad enough that you killed my pet dog, but why are you here lying about your mother being dead? Are you trying to get Alpha's attention on purpose? Trying to steal him away from me? I know you can't stand me, but please don't use such crude methods to humiliate me."

Her fragility made Kieran's eyes fill with heartache, but when he looked at me, his eyes were full of anger.

"Do you think I don't know your mother's condition? If you say another word like that here, believe me, I'll make sure the healers never treat your mother again."

I couldn't believe that the man who once loved me so much could say such things.

But I could only beg them through my heartbreak: "Really, I'm not lying. My mother is dying right now. She's on a bed downstairs..."

"Since you were cruel enough to kill Aunt Sera's pet dog and make her so upset, here's what we'll do. If you kowtow to Aunt Sera 100 times and give her a proper apology, I'll ask Dad to go save Grandma!"

Owen coldly interrupted me.

I stared at my once sweet and adorable son, unable to believe these words could come from his mouth.

The coldness in Owen's eyes was almost identical to Kieran's.

Just like I couldn't understand how the once gentle Kieran had become so heartless.

Back when Kieran was pursuing me, he filled our pack territory's night sky with my favorite purple fireworks, spent 100 million dollars to buy the most expensive healing stone in history to make my engagement ring.

On my birthday, he covered our entire villa with my favorite moonflowers and proposed to me on one knee in front of everyone, causing a sensation throughout the pack. Only then did I believe his feelings were genuine.

After our mating ceremony, he rejected all other she-wolves and only had eyes for me.

Even after we had Owen, his love for me never diminished by even a fraction.

Owen used to be so well-behaved and understanding, incredibly clingy with me, always saying I was the best mother in the world.

But then Sera appeared, and everything changed.

I looked at Kieran with my last bit of hope, hoping he would say something fair.

But he didn't even glance at me, his eyes full of tenderness as he fed Sera her medicine.

Thinking of my mother lying on the bed downstairs, I had no choice but to kneel down in humiliation and kowtow, over and over again. My wolf had been severely injured while saving these two in the past and never fully healed, so I had no healing abilities. The kowtowing left my head bloody and broken.

A flash of satisfaction crossed Sera's face as she lay there watching me kowtow.

"Just because you're a Luna doesn't mean you can bully others with your status. I'll never forgive you. You killed my Peter. I have no family, and that pet dog was my only friend! He was my only emotional support!"
