Xavier almost went out of his mind. He hopped out of Gabriella's car and sprinted to the shallow lake.
His six-million-dollar car had already sunk to the bottom with its windows lowered, which meant that water had rushed in wantonly and ruined the car's interior.
Xavier's documents and credentials were in there, and it would be a headache to get them replaced. So, he leaped into the lake without a second thought. With a deep plunge, he swam to the bottom.
The gardeners stood at the shore, watching everything he did. Landon leaned in close and said sarcastically, "He sure can handle himself underwater."
Gabriella sprinted out of the car and looked at Landon. He held her by the shoulder and said, "I didn't want to do this, but he was just so shameless that I couldn't stand it."
She looked at him before turning her gaze to the water. Grunting, she said, "It suddenly occurred to me that the two of you might make a good pair after all."
