Later that evening, the sky looked as if it might have a heavy downpour, but Mia didn't care as she made her way out of the house without an umbrella or anything else to protect her from the rain in case it started. She took out her phone to check the address of where she was headed to. Satisfied with the information, she made her way across the street where she flagged down a taxi.

She got to the hotel just in time before the party started. She went to the back quickly and got changed. She made her way inside the hotel when a bald, middle aged man walked up to her with a clipboard in hand.

"Are you Mia Anderson?" The man said.

"Yes I am," Mia responded nervously.

"You're ten minutes late." The man bellowed.

Mia looked around clueless, "But the party hasn't even started yet."

"I said you're ten minutes late. Did you see the agreed time that was sent to your email? If you don't want to get sent home, you better learn how to stick to the agreement." The man said and walked away.

Mia was boiling with rage as to why the man would talk to her like that. All eyes had turned to look at her as she stood there, her cheeks flushed heavily with embarrassment. She tried to calm her insides down before she picked up herself and made her way into the kitchen section.

If Jason hadn't been so stupid enough not to cheat on her, maybe she would not have been here trying to seek revenge and thereby receiving this magnitude of insults.

"Hey, you." Someone called to her when she was in the kitchen. She spun around to where the direction of the voice came from.

"What's the name?" A woman with a bushy ponytail who looked impatient with an apron tied around her waist said to her.

"Mia," she responded.

"Okay, Maya. You'll be in charge of serving drinks to Mr. Logan's table. And make sure you don't do anything funny, Mr. Logan is one of our most respectable customers."

"Yes madam," Mia responded, trying to sound as sheepish as possible.

"Call me Steph, here's an apron for you. Start preparing the drinks, and remember to take the apron off when you start serving the drinks." The woman said and threw an apron her way. Mia caught it before it fell to the floor.

In less than twenty minutes, the hotel lobby which was large enough to fit in five hundred people was ready. Mia marveled at how beautifully the lobby had been decorated.

The hotel lobby was decorated with the utmost care and attention to detail, creating an exquisite and elegant atmosphere for the party. The centerpieces were made of fresh flowers, arranged in tall, crystal vases. The lighting was soft and flattering, and the colors were carefully chosen to complement the decor. The furniture was comfortable and inviting, with plush sofas and armchairs providing plenty of seating for guests.

As guests entered the lobby, they were greeted by a staff member who took their coats and offered them a flute of champagne. They were then escorted to the main hall, where a live band was playing jazz music.

As Mia was still dazzled in admiration, she saw Mr. Logan walk in with his entourage. It seemed like time stopped for a moment as she took in sight of him.

He dressed in a perfectly tailored suit and walked confidently into the lobby. His silver hair was neatly combed, and his expensive cologne reached Mia's nose and clouded her senses. His shoes were polished to a gleaming shine, and his silk tie was perfectly knotted.

As he entered the room, he exuded an air of sophistication and wealth. He carried himself with a certain dignity and grace, and his every gesture exuded confidence and power. He was the epitome of success, and his presence commanded respect.

"What are you still drooling at? Get to work!" Steph's voice jolted her back to reality.

Mia shook her head slightly as she stared at the drinks in front of her. She felt her heart sank. This was the moment she had been preparing for. She placed the drinks carefully in the trolley along with the wine bottle.

She wheeled it over to Mr Logan's table, her heart pounding vigorously against her chest. She feigned a calm composure as she got to the table, greeted everyone first, and began to serve the drinks. She stole glances occasionally at Mr Logan who was chattering wholeheartedly with his colleagues.

She bowed her head slightly as she walked away to get more wines as they had ordered. She came back to the table and started to pour more drinks. Mia's heart sank when she thought she saw Mr Logan eyeing her closely or must it have been her imagination. She hoped it wasn't.

"Hey young lady, come pour me more drinks." Mia thought her heart would jump out of her tin cage when she heard Mr Logan address her.

"Yes sir." She said and hurried down to where he sat with the wine glass in hand. She poured the wine into his glass. As she stood there waiting for another command, she thought of how to add the substance she had gotten earlier from Mary into Mr Logan's drink.

She grew increasingly agitated. Mr. Logan had stopped demanding for more drinks. Mia prayed desperately inwardly for him to ask for another drink, just one more and her plan would be executed, but she thought of the numerous eyes that were watching her. She was sure that Steph's eyes most especially never left her body.

Mia's frustration doubled as people were starting to retire to their hotel rooms and she knew that Mr Logan was soon to join them.

Mia's eyes almost grew teary when Mr Logan stood from his chair.

"Oh no!" She cried inwardly. All her efforts were going down the drain. Her cheeks were flushed with rage when she realized that all the facade she had put up was all for nothing. She had done her findings and realized that the most exquisite hotel in the country was short staffed, and the top guns had organized a big party to be held there. When Mia realised that Jason's father, Mr Logan was going to attend, she hurriedly wrote a mail to them asking to be hired for the night as a wine server.

Now she had gotten in, and the major reason why she had gotten in was because of Mr Logan, and now the opportunity was going to slip by her fingers.

"Hey, you,"

Mia turned around. It was Mr Logan.

"Bring these drinks to my room upstairs. I can't let such fine drinks go to waste." He said and walked out.

Mia's heart leaped for joy. It felt like she wanted to give Mr Logan a hug at that moment. With a smile dancing on her face, she quickly cleared the empty glasses from the table as all the people that were seated round the table had left already.

The last thing that Jason could make out before the whole place went blank was the men dragging Rosa out from the car while she screamed and flared her hands in the air. His entire body had felt weak the moment he felt those cold hands on his neck. The pain had been swift—swift enough to put him in a lethal state. "Ro...Rosa!" He called out to her, trying to get up to his feet but his legs wobbled and he fell to the ground. His knees could not support his weight at that moment. The whole world had started to spin around him, causing him to be hazy. He made a second attempt to get up to his feet, but again, it was futile. "You damn bastard, you caused this, you knew that they were coming yet, you turned off the headlights and drove really slowly, didn't you?!" Jason scratched his fingers against the floor, brusing his nails in the process as he struggled to stay awake. "I'm sorry, boss. It was an order given to me, I had to obey it." The chauffeur replied, his whole body vibrating

By the time they ordered their second round of alcohol, Rosa was already drowned heavily in alcohol, but she kept on drinking away regardless. At the party, Jason noticed the way a lot of men had been flocking around Rosa even when she with him, pretending like he wasn't there, but the worst part of it all was that Rosa didn't turn them off when they approached her. Jason didn't want to think much of it and just kept on sipping his alcohol and bobbing his head to the rhythm of the music playing in the background. He wanted to believe that the men coming towards her were some people she knew in her line of work, but the way they checked her out in front of Jason said otherwise. "Rosa, we'll be leaving in a few minutes." Jason had announced as he took his last glass of alcohol and gulped it down his throat. "Leaving already? But the fun is just getting started!" She let out in a drunken state and the next thing, she was singing along to the lyrics of the song, throwing her hands in t

Jason’s journey ended at dusk, the darkening sky mirroring the turmoil inside him. The long drive to his father’s penthouse had drained him more than he had imagined. Every mile felt like an endless reminder of the mistakes he’d made and the heavy burden of betrayal he carried with him. His body ached from fatigue, but he was determined to reach his destination—a place that, for tonight, would serve as his escape from the chaos of his recent life. When Jason finally pulled up in front of the penthouse, Two silent, imposing guards stood at the entrance, their expressions were stoic and unreadable. They exchanged a brief nod of recognition when they saw him, as if acknowledging both his arrival and the weight he bore. the guards helped him unload his luggage from the sleek, black car. Stepping inside, Jason was immediately enveloped by the quiet elegance of the penthouse. The spacious foyer was softly lit, and a gentle warmth emanated from the polished marble floors. Word had traveled

"Hey, open this door, you damned bastards!" Mia yelles out as she heard the guards locking her in the room from outside. "Logan you cannot do this to me. Tell them to open this damn door now!" Mia yelled at the top of her lungs as she pounded her fist against the door. "No, no, no, this cant be happening!" Mia let out in frustration, pulling at her hair in frustration. How had Logan been able to see through her lies? She placed her other hand over her stomach and subconsciously gave it a little rub. If Logan found out the truth from that night that he had not actually raped her then she was done for, with the attitude he had just displayed a few minute ago, she was sure that Logan would make sure not to spare her and punish her for ever lying to him. "Damn it!" Mia cussed under her breath. This was not what she had in mind, her plan was already going a wire and this was not meant to happen. If Logan stopped believing her now, all her efforts to get back at Jason and become his f

Logan had almost fallen out of his seat the moment Mia spat out those words. "No, not this..." He muttered to himself, "you cannot be pregnant for me." Logan let out. "I'm pregnant for you and I have proof." Mia said rather too calmly. She noticed that what she had revealed to him had thrown him off guard—the opposite of what she had expected. Logan struggled to make it his feet, bridging the gap between the both of them. "Mia, you cannot have that child!" He repeated in a more serious tone, "Then what do you suggest I do instead, because the damage had already been done, I'm pregnant for you, Logan!" "You cannot keep that child!" Logan insisted, his eyes fell to her flat stomach, "you have to get rid of that child. No, you will get rid of that child!" He said in a stern tone. "You're insane if you think that I'm going to kill my child!" Mia shot back as she took a step backward. "Listen to me, young lady!" Logan said through gritted teeth, "you have no idea what I'm capab

"Look dear. I already told you that I had a really bad day at work today and I have to take my rest." Logan let out, walking past her. Mia watched in anger as he walked away from her. She pressed her lips against each other and turned to walk away. She had given Logan enough time to settle down and when it was already dusk, she decided that it was time to pay him a visit in the room. With her heart pounding with anticipation. She smoothed her dress, ensuring every detail of her appearance was flawless. Tonight was her chance. She had heard the argument earlier that day. Logan had been livid after seeing Jason's private photos leaked online. The scandal was plastered all over social media, an embarrassment to the well-respected businessman. Jason had tried to defend himself, but Logan had snapped. “If you want to act like a reckless fool, then you don’t deserve a damn thing from me,” Logan had shouted. “I won’t have my legacy tarnished by your stupidity!
