Emily turned to look at Garrett, noticing his apparent anger. Was he jealous? She walked over to him and took his hand, smiling up at him as he looked down at her. He held her tightly, then glanced at Gabriel, who still had a smile on his face. Did the man ever stop smiling? He looked remarkably youthful for his age.
"Since we're all here, let's bring in Sapphire. Elena and Davies, if you would be so kind," Gabriel suggested.
Davies bowed and left, followed by Elena, as they made their way to the cells to retrieve Sapphire. They would use the back door to avoid exposing her to the pack members.
"You're doing a splendid job here," Gabriel remarked, crossing his arms over his chest. It was surprising how well he had learned to behave like a normal human being, with all the shaking, moving, blinking, and smiling – one of his favorites.
