Once upon a time, nestled between the wild coastline and dark ragged mountains, was a pack known as the Silver Moon pack. This rugged and unforgiving landscape has been their homes for centuries, providing them with shelter, food and a place to roam free away from the prying eyes of humankind. They worked with the land, thanking the moon goddess for giving them all they had while endeavouring to show kindness and respect to their allies.
Unlike all of the other packs in the land, Silver Moon was given a female alpha to rule them. For hundreds of years the mantle of leader was passed from mother to daughter and with each new leader, the pack flourished and grew.
All was well until one fateful night forty years ago when the Alpha's mate was struck with madness and a lust for power like nothing anyone had ever seen. In one foul swoop the crazed beast killed the alpha and their daughter before declaring himself alpha of the pack.
Anyone who defied him was killed in any torturous way the mad alpha could think of until all that was left was fear and submission
For years the mad alpha ruled with a cruel iron fist. His pack became his slaves and he took liberties with his power, forcing himself onto all the young she-wolves who were now nothing more than toys for his sick pleasure.
The land that once thrived under their care was now desolate. There was no love, no light and it seemed, no hope.
Then one day a strange visitor crossed the border. A woman from a far away land with eyes as black as the night and clothes in rich colours. Her voice was sweet as honey and rich like espresso, lilting with her mystical accent.
She claimed to be a curious traveler with stories to tell the mad alpha. She seduced him with messages from the moon goddess and slipped past his walls until he trusted her without measure.
But all was not what it seemed with this curious intruder. Her voice echoed like whispers in the dead of night, luring the enslaved pack members to her. Her words filled the once broken hearts with hope and bravery. She promised a revolution and the end to the mad alpha's reign.
"Who are you?" They would ask in awe.
"My name is Eshe." She replied with a mischievous glint in her shimmering eyes. "And the moon goddess has sent me to set you free."
They couldn't do it alone though, the mad alpha had too many soldiers now loyal to him. But Eshe knew where they could get help. She was aware of the rough but noble pack that neighboured Silver Moon. She knew they would help once they learned of the horrific events occurring here.
"The Hellhounds will help." Eshe promised.
Secret words were sent south to the wolves who had once been allies to Silver Moon. Within a few days they received word from Alpha Slade.
'We are at your service.'
So the revolution came. It was bloody, violent and long but on the fourth day, the mad Alpha's reign came to an end. Not everything was perfect though. Many had died and the mad alpha himself had managed to escape but finally Silver Moon were free again. Wounds fresh and bodies battered, Silver Moon crowned their saviour their new alpha.
To heal, Silver Moon closed their borders. They had endured so much and the scars would take more than a new alpha for them to fade. The pack closed themselves off from their allies, ceasing nearly all communication with their own kind. No one knew for certain why and what happened while Silver Moon isolated themselves but when they finally reached out, the mad alpha was all but forgotten about.
But while light had found the Silver Moon pack once again, a darkness lurked at the edges. A malevolent soul lurked in the shadows just waiting for the moment to strike and take back what they believed belonged to them.
