Chapter 12 - Are you afraid of men?
Hindi ako nakumbinsi ni coach na maglaro ng full time sa basketball team ng UCLA. Priority ko talaga ang pag-aaral. Pero ang usapan naming tatlong laro lang ay naging lima. Lahat ng limang laban namin sa ibang teams na sinalihan ko ay puro panalo! Enjoy kasi ako sa paglalaro ng basketball. Isa pa lumabas ng pagiging competitive ko kapag nasa court ako.
Nalungkot naman ang mga teammates ko sa aking pag-alis. “George, is there anything we can do to stop you from leaving the team?” malungkot na sabi ni Joan na aming center.
“I am terribly sorry. I really don't want to join your team in the first place. But Coach Cori said that I should give it a try for three games only which had extended to two more games. Besides I am about to finish my studies this coming summer where I will under go internship. This will need my full attention.”paliwanag ko sa team habang nasa locker room kaming lahat.
