Chapter 19- Onyx POV
I pace my house waiting for the arrival of Clara and Lobo. She will be coming home with the signed paperwork from yesterday. The paperwork makes us allies with the Blood Water Pack and gives us access to all the other packs. Brett has angered me by announcing he has more for me than just the paperwork but refuses to tell me what, for my own good. My alarm sounds that a car has pulled into my territory, and I jog outside to meet Clara.
As she exits the car, she has a smile I have never seen before. “Alpha, I bring you a gift.” She smiles wider as she hands me a gift bag filled with tissue paper. “What is it?” I ask. “It is from Briar, the Alpha’s Daughter of Blood Water Pack.” Her words are filled with hope. Something in her eyes tells me it means more than just a simple thank you.
