After a while, I had no fight left in me. The only thing left to do was to assess the situation with a calm mind. I walked to the window to check if there was a way to climb out, but below the window were guards that had been placed strategically there. They weren’t speaking, and they didn’t move, but they looked alert—like they were waiting for something. I also knew that there were guards outside the door. If I was going to have any chance of an escape and still have to look for Jeremy in order to save him, it would be impossible.
The only other option would be to escape and then somehow find Damien so that he could come with me, and together we could rescue Jeremy.
