~SCARLETT.
"Scarlett..." A small voice nudged at the edge of my dreams, gentle but persistent.
"Hey... wake up, Scarlett."
A light touch on my shoulder made my eyes flutter open. The ceiling above me spun slightly, white with a slow-moving fan, and just above me was Emily's face, blurry at first, then gradually sharpening.
"...Emily?"
She let out a trembling breath. "Oh, thank God. I was starting to freak out."
I pushed myself up, and the movement sent a quiet throb through my head. I winced, pressing a hand to my temple. "What… happened?"
"You don't remember?" She asked, eyes wide with concern.
I shook my head slowly. "No. Last I remember, we were at the pool… just talking."
Pulling a bottle of water from the side table, she handed it to me, along with two small white pills. "You should drink. And take these. It'll help. You've been out for a while."
My mouth was bone dry.
