I sat frozen on my bed, my eyes glued to the screen. My eyes burned, but I didn’t blink. I had read the same paragraphs over and over, my mind refusing to accept what was in front of me.

I scrolled endlessly, absorbing every detail. Check-in for their weakness, Silver. Wolfsbane. Strong scents that could mask a human from their senses.
Werewolves were real! And I was living with one.
The words wouldn’t stop echoing in my head. The realization hadn’t dulled, hadn’t settled. If anything, it grew worse, clawing at my sanity, making my skin prickle every time the apartment creaked and I held my breath hoping she wasn't the one coming in to complete what she'd started.
