“Where are you?”
“Uh...” I stuttered. Lying wasn't my strength, no matter how white I tried to paint it. My first giveaway was that I stuttered.
“I know you can hear me vividly.” Rylee sighed. "Do not pull that network crap on me.”
She was a smart pant, I would have to give her that. Back to level zero, I began to think of the best response, before her impatient ass would make it any harder for me.
"I decided to take a walk and clear my head.” I finally replied Rylee.
“Jas?” Her voice boomed from my phone's speaker. She sounded like 'What the heck?’
“What? It's the truth...”
"By 8: 00 PM, and you expect me to buy that line?” She scoffed.
"Everything is getting to me lately, I decided to take the back seat for once, Rylee.” I wasn't making sense, I knew I wasn't.
"Jasmine, I will ask this just one more time, and if you still insist on that...” She heaves a sigh. "I will end this call dial Asher’s line and tell him that you're not with me...”
