Selene’s POV – Ronan’s Mansion

The silence of the room enveloped me like an oppressive shroud—cold, suffocating, and profoundly unwelcome.

I curled up on the edge of the immense bed, its plushness both inviting and confining, pulling my knees tightly to my chest. My arms wrapped around them in a protective embrace, as if they could shield me from the impending storm of chaos swirling just beyond the door. This bed, too soft and impossibly clean, exuded an air of luxury that felt more like a gilded cage than a sanctuary—it was like a throne constructed for a captive. The biting irony of my situation wasn’t lost on me.

No tears came, no matter how desperately I tried.

I had absolutely attempted to cry, to unleash the flood of emotions swirling within me. But my heart, battered and weary, had succumbed to a numbing silence, as if my body had sensed the futility of it all.

In this twisted reality, tears were nothing but a wasted effort.

A low, rumbling chuckle escaped his lips, the sound reverberating through the dimly lit corner of the club where we sat. The bass from the music seemed to pulse in rhythm with my heartbeat as his eyes fixed on mine with an intensity that made me shift uncomfortably in my seat."You need to pay me because I helped you act," he said, his voice cutting through the ambient noise with surprising clarity. There was something in his tone—part amusement, part seriousness—that made my stomach clench with unease."Pay you?" I repeated the words, feeling foreign on my tongue as I tried to process what he'd just said. The colored lights from the dance floor cast shifting shadows across his face, making it difficult to read his expression fully. But his eyes-those dark, calculating eyes—never wavered from mine.He nodded slowly, deliberately, as if savoring my confusion. The gesture was almost predatory, like a cat that had cornered its prey and was now taking its

Selene's POVThe kiss had ended mere seconds ago, yet the phantom sensation of Ronan's lips against mine lingered like a ghost's caress. My breath came in shallow, uneven gasps as I struggled to regain composure. He had nearly stolen every ounce of air from my lungs, leaving me dizzy and disoriented in the most intoxicating way possible. The world around us seemed to blur at the edges, as if someone had smudged watercolors across my vision.I turned my head toward the direction where I had encountered Damien earlier, catching sight of his retreating figure disappearing into the crowd of swaying bodies. A small, satisfied smile tugged at the corners of my lips as I watched him go. There was something almost triumphant about the moment – knowing that he had witnessed what had just transpired between Ronan and me. The thought sent a peculiar thrill racing through my veins.By all accounts, I should have been mortified. A proper young woman would have bee

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Fourty Nine: Jealousy

Damien's POVMy fist clenched so tightly that my knuckles turned white, the sharp bite of my nails digging crescents into my palms as I stared—no, glared—at the scene unfolding before me. Selene. My Selene. Pressed against Ronan Blackwood like she belonged there, like she had every right to let his hands roam the small of her back while his lips claimed hers with a possessiveness that should have been mine alone. The crystal champagne flute in my other hand trembled, the amber liquid sloshing dangerously close to the rim. I wanted to hurl it across the opulent ballroom, watch it shatter against the marble floor in a thousand glittering pieces—just like my composure was threatening to do. But I couldn't move. My feet felt leaden, rooted to the Persian carpet beneath them as if the very ground had conspired to trap me in this torturous moment. When she had first walked through those towering double doors, her silhouette framed by the golden light spilli

Selene's Pov "Do you really know what you're about to do, damsel?" His voice cut through the charged air between us, calm yet laced with that familiar, dangerous undertone that never failed to send shivers racing down my spine. The question hung suspended in the space around us, heavy with implication and promise. I could feel the weight of his gaze boring into me, studying every micro-expression that flickered across my face. But tonight was different. Tonight, I refused to be the mouse in his carefully orchestrated game of cat and mouse. I turned slightly, my movements deliberate and measured, catching sight of Damien from my peripheral vision. He remained exactly where he'd been standing moments before—a silent sentinel watching our interaction unfold with those calculating eyes of his. There was something unsettling about the way he observed us, as if he were a predator waiting for the perfect moment to strike. But his presence,

Selene's pov The sleek red sport car glided through the neon-lit streets before coming to a halt in front of what appeared to be an ordinary nightclub. But the pulsing bass that reverberated through the concrete walls and the carefully positioned security guards told a different story. The parking lot was filled with expensive vehicles—Maseratis, Lamborghinis, and custom motorcycles that gleamed under the streetlights like predatory beasts waiting to pounce. "One more thing, damsel," Ronan's voice cut through the heavy bass that seeped into our sanctuary of leather and cologne. His fingers drummed against the steering wheel in a rhythm that didn't match the music—a nervous habit I'd begun to recognize. I turned to face him, studying the sharp angles of his face illuminated by the club's neon sign. The red light cast shadows that made his features appear more dangerous, more mysterious than usual. "What is it?"

  • THE DEVIL'S POSSESSION   Chapter Fourty Six: It's You I Love

Selene's POV Ronan's eyes found mine across the dimly lit space, and for a moment, something unreadable flickered in their depths before his lips curved into that familiar, infuriating smirk. Then he laughed—a short, sharp sound that cut through the tension like a blade."Oh my goodness, Selene," he said, shaking his head as if I were some naive child who'd just asked why the sky was blue. "What sort of nonsense are you saying?"The words hit me like a physical blow, and I felt heat creep up my neck, burning my cheeks with embarrassment. *How can you ask such a stupid question?* I chastised myself internally, my hands clenching into fists at my sides. The humiliation was almost overwhelming, making me want to disappear into the shadows that danced around us."Selene," Ronan continued, his voice taking on that patronizing tone that never failed to make my blood boil, "I see that you're having a misunderstanding here." He leaned back against t
