Pagpasok ko sa opisina ng Faculty Head, ramdam ko agad ang tensyon. Nasa harap ng mesa si Dean Evangelista—nakasandal, nakakunot ang noo, at tila may iniisip na mabigat.
"Professor Villamor," seryosong bungad niya. "Please, have a seat."
Umupo ako nang maayos, pinilit kong huwag ipahalata ang kaba. Hindi ko man aminin, kabado akong humarap sa kaniya. Alam kong may kaugnayan ito sa kumakalat na tsismis sa unibersidad.
“I’ll go straight to the point,” panimula niya. “Your name has been circulating around the university lately—and not because of your credentials. It’s because of the rumor involving you and Mr. Killian Nicolaj.”
Tumango ako. “I am aware, Ma’am.”
She crossed her arms. “Do you deny the relationship?”
"I deny the rumors that I’m sleeping with the university owner just to keep my position," diretsong sagot ko. "I won’t deny that we’ve interacted outside work, but it’s always been respectful. And it was never unprofessional."
Tumigil siya. Pinagmasdan ako na parang sinus
