Entangled in the rival's hold

Entangled in the rival's hold

Diego strolled into his apartment, his heels clinking softly against the marble floor. He tossed his blonde wig on the couch, and his soft fingers propelled forward to count the dollar bills in his hands. “You're out crossdressing again?” His uncle, Roberto, a tall imposing figure with gray streaks on his hair walked into the room. “I might just have the perfect job for you,” Roberto chuckled softly and tossed a gun at Diego. “What?!” Diego's breath hitched in his throat as he swallowed the weight of the mission his uncle proposed. Cross dressing was one thing that Diego did with ease. There was no way he could do what his uncle requested; assassinating the infamous mafia lord of the Rocco empire. He stood in front of a mirror, holding the gun that Roberto had handed to him. There was no way that this soft and delicate hand could pull a trigger. Diego didn't expect that the mafia lord he was set up against was going to be a man who'll make his heart flutter. He tried to resist, bracing himself to complete his mission. But things only got heated when he found himself “entangled in the rival's hold.”

Chapter: Chapter 17
My instructor was extremely impressed by the way I acted my script flawlessly.“A standing ovation for Miss Carter.” She stood up, and other students stood up, giving a round of applause.“You're meant to go places.” She smiled at me as soon as the play was done. “Are you interested in our show in Paris?”“I'm still thinking about it.” I responded with a smile.“Good. I hope to see you there.”As she left, I took a deep breath, unsure if I would be able to make that trip. Money wasn't a constraint, but time and freedom. I was stuck here doing my uncle's work, and until the mission was resolved, I couldn't leave. It was almost evening and I suspected that the children would be on their way back. Like Bruno said, I had to make sure I came back before the children returned.I clutched my bag and walked out of the training school. A red car with tinted glass seemed to be following me. I didn't give it thought as I presumed the driver was headed in the same direction as mine.I shrieked as

Chapter: Chapter 16
I woke up to the faint morning light slipping through the window, and my phone lying on my chest. I gasped as I glanced at the clock which read 6 am. I stayed up during the night, waiting for Anthony's call, but it never came. I swiped through my call logs and my fears were confirmed, he actually didn't call me.I dialed his line a couple of times, but got no response. I took a deep breath, brushing off the negative imaginations that I had about Anthony in a room with a woman.A knock sounded on my door as soon as I got out of bed. I opened it to see Bruno standing there with a transparent file in his hand.“Goodmorning Miss D…” He froze, staring at me like there was something abominable on my face. He wore a surprised look, and his brow was slightly raised.Oh shit. I cursed and slammed the door. My heart began beating at an accelerated rate. ‘How could I be so careless?’ I chided myself.I tried hard to steady my raging heartbeat as I stared at the mirror. I had taken off my wig, br

Chapter: Chapter 15
I would have minded my business and gone downstairs if the grunts didn't get louder. It sounded more like sounds of anguish. I followed the direction of the sound, taking calculated steps, so that if it was something dangerous, I could easily run away.My jaw slacked slightly as I met Vincent in the room, squirming on the floor while placing a piece of cloth over his chest. Before I could turn to leave and pretend like I never saw this, his eyes locked with mine. They weren't the calm grey eyes that I knew. They were slightly reddened as though he had been crying.“Quick. Get hel…” Before he could complete his statement, he passed out.My mind raced as I moved closer to him, pulling the cloth that was placed on his bare chest. It covered a small wound. The injury looked too small to cause so much pain. I was torn between getting help or just leaving him there to die. After all, he was my rival.“Boss, you called me, just hold on.” I heard a man say as he hurried into the room.I had s

Chapter: Chapter 14
DiegoThe twins were still on my mind till evening, especially Ted. He had been so expressive. It wasn't like I hated his sister, but he just seemed like an easier nut to crack.I dropped the empty glass that I had given Ted to drink water with in the kitchen. I decided to save Bruno the stress of washing it and just decided to wash it myself.Bruno had warned me about wandering the halls. His reason was that Vincent hates it. I decided to have a little peek outside the house, just to have a clue of where I would be spying. There wasn't much outside, except the flowers planted around, the wide space and a small bungalow by the side which I suspected belonged to the security men who manned the gate.I was about to check out the backyard when I heard a loud horn from outside the gate. A man approached and slid open the gate. Vincent parked his car and walked towards the house briskly, ignoring my greeting.Even though his movement was hurried, it didn't stop me from noticing a red stain

Vincent's POVMy grip on the steering wheel was tight, almost as if I wanted to crush it. I hit the steering a couple of times as I tried hard to control the rage brewing in my chest. My boy was angry at me. Those tantrums he threw bore into my soul. I hoped he didn't hate me the same way I hated my father while growing up. I still hated him till now.I knew I could sacrifice the whole world for my children. They were all I had. I hit the steering one more time as I recalled the incident at Pixie land. My assistant had chosen the place carefully as a place to spend quality time with the kids.Just the first night of being there, someone infiltrated our suite and tried to stab Ted with a knife. Of course Ted is a deep sleeper and was still sleeping when I dragged the man out of the room. That posed a lot of threat to my kids and I had to withdraw them instantly. If only Ted knew that I was caring for him and not being harsh and strict. We left as soon as the ugly incident occurred.I d

Chapter: Chapter 12
“Mr. Vincent doesn't like people wandering the halls.”I paused midway as I heard Bruno's voice. I turned towards him and he had the same warm smile on his face.“Oh. I'm so sorry,” I muttered as I strolled back towards the dining table. I had already walked towards the far end of one of the corridors before Bruno interrupted.Bruno gave a satisfactory nod at my apology. “I know you may need a tour around the house, but Master Vincent hates when the workers roam about places besides their area of work.”“I totally understand,”He nodded his head the second time. I wondered if that's what he does all day. Cook, clean and smile. He was a valet and a chef.I felt like throwing more questions at Bruno. Questions that would allow me to know more about Vincent and how I can carry out my job perfectly. I stared at Bruno from over the counter, I couldn't afford to ask him directly about what Vincent normally does.“So, how is work here like?”Bruno chuckled as he heard my question. “My work i

The Lycan King's Omega

The Lycan King's Omega

Logan Kincaid, alpha of Moon Valleys, despised gay men with a hatred that knew no bounds. As an alpha, he had the power to punish, and he did, torturing or even killing any werewolf who refused to “repent.” But his reign of cruelty ended the night he was ambushed. A bullet tore through his chest, and he should have died. Yet when he awakens, everything has changed. The bullet wound is gone, his body feels foreign, and he is no longer an alpha. He is now an omega, reborn in Hericon, a world where omegas exist only for pleasure. Worse, he belongs to the Lycan King, a ruler who wants nothing more than to claim Logan Kincaid’s body. Once the predator, now the prey, Logan must face the desire he despised. Will he survive?

Chapter: Chapter 38
He ran off instantly despite the mild pain he felt in his knees. The men above hesitated for a few seconds, too stunned that the overseer would make such a move.“Quick. Get him.” The shaman ordered. The guards and Darius slid the half-wall and jumped down as well. The shaman chuckled dryly as they dispersed. The overseer's action had further proved that his reason for killing the omega was malicious.“You go here, and I'll follow that side.” Darius pointed in two directions that they should scout for Lan. Both men nodded, before hurrying off.The scent of Lan was quite difficult to track, but the men were unrelenting. Lan on the other hand ran with all the strength in him. He didn't know where exactly he'd be headed.“He is here!” One of the guards screamed as he sighted Lan from afar.Darius joined them from his route upon hearing the shout.“Stop immediately. This is the order of the king!”The overseer didn't heed them and kept running as they passed through corridors. He had live

“What is wrong with you?” Lan flared up as he faced the older man. The shaman attempted to dig his hand further into the overseer's pockets but Lan restricted him, which was followed by him flinging the shaman's hand away. The healer stumbled backwards, holding his chest before regaining his stance.Lan straightened his crumpled pants and pointed at the shaman. “Explain the meaning of this nonsense immediately.”“I need to see your pockets. You have Tokana powder in there, don't you? I can sense it.”Lan acted stunned for a few seconds before regaining his composure. The healer was a wise one. Lan hadn't even known the type of poison that was given to him. He had no idea it was Tokana powder. The elderly man was right that the powder was in his pockets.Lan dipped his hand into his pockets, tugging the bag containing the powder deeper into the seams, so as to hide it. He noticed the shaman's gaze following his hands.“I am afraid you are biting more than you can chew.” Lan said sternl

From what the elderly man knew, the overseer claimed he was here to check up on the omega. A thought settled in the shaman's mind as he asked himself if the omega was already in this state when Lan was here, but Lan claimed that the omega was sound. Before allowing his fears to escalate, he proceeded to carry out further examinations. He moved closer to the omega and lifted his eyelids. The eyes snapped close once the pressure was taken off.He checked his pulse and felt nothing. His breathing was also unreadable. He took a deep breath before proceeding to carry the only checkup left that might conclude the omega's fate.He touched the part of the chest where the heartbeat could be felt. He kept pressing on it, hoping for even the slightest feel. When his hand remained there for almost a minute and he couldn't feel anything, fear engulfed the shaman. As he leaned close to Logan, he inhaled the same strange smell as earlier. It wasn't the scent that was here earlier, nor was it the sme

THE NEXT MORNINGPreparations had been made previously for Silas' short trip. Theo had gotten him out of the box and he looked a total mess, just like he always looked after the half-blood moon.“Theo, thank you so…” Silas attempted to appreciate him, but Theo cut him off.“You need to get prepared for today's trip. We need to find a solution soon.”Silas nodded and watched as Theo left the room. The King proceeded to get ready and carry his suitcase along with him. He ate his breakfast in his chambers. When he got outside, he wasted no time in leaving with Theo. He hadn't bothered to see Caine or Griffin from Moon Valleys, or even going into the room where Logan was kept.Griffin, Caine and Avril also got up. They already had it in mind that they would leave today. It was impossible for their Fake Logan to arrive for the execution to be carried out; hence they devised another plan.Breakfast was served to them in their visitors quarters.“Do you really think this would work?” Griffin

The rest of the meal continued in silence. A sort of silence that felt awkward, like everyone was forcing it.“Your Alpha made mention of something that deeply troubled me.” Silas broke the silence. His plate was almost empty, save for the small remainder of food left.“Would he really stop all trade with Hericon, like he said in court? You should know I wasn't trying to ridicule your alpha or your pack. I was simply doing my duties as a king.”“We aren't sure if he meant it or if he said it simply out of anger.”Silas poured wine into his glass and took a sip. “I wish your Alpha was here so that I can apologize properly. I am sorry.”“It's fine. Perhaps, you should apologize properly by executing the omega.”The King laughed faintly at Caine's words. “I wish I could do that.”“Don't you plan to execute the omega?” Griffin chipped in this time. His plate was still filled with food as he ate slowly. He had already gotten food at a nearby restaurant before coming.“I'll decide when he w

Chapter: Chapter 33
By evening, word was sent to Silas that the omega's breathing had stabilized. Silas wasted no time in visiting the chambers where Logan was treated. The shaman stood immediately, the door opened, and the King walked in.“All the medications have been given to him. He is breathing normally now, although still unconscious. I'm hoping that he will wake up in two days.” The shaman cleared his throat and continued. “Untill then, we will continue administering medications.”Silas didn't respond. He walked closer to Logan and his gaze settled on the wound in his chest—the place where he was stabbed. The shaman noticed the King's gaze and quickly added. “The wound is healing very slowly, because of the silver, but hopefully, it will be completely healed soon.”“How soon?”The shaman bent his head. “I'm not sure.”Silas kept looking around the room, unsure of what exactly he was looking for. For some odd reason, he felt like he wanted to be close to the omega. Then, he sat at the edge of the b
