PREGNANT WITH MY FATHER-IN-LAW’S HEIR

PREGNANT WITH MY FATHER-IN-LAW’S HEIR

“I am hopelessly in love with you, Mein Engel” Dante kept his face buried in Cassandra's neck as he spoke. Her skin tingled, his hot breath brushing mildly against it. His voice was a deep baritone yet reassuring and steady. She found herself succumbing, her eyes fluttering close. Everything about him oddly drew her in his demanding presence, the intoxicating aroma that lingered around him, and those deep blue eyes that seemed to pierce right through her, as if they could uncover every secret she kept. But that wasn't right. That man was my husband's father, twice her age, and the whole thing felt off. What would the whole world think of Cassandra Adler, daughter of the Chairman of Delsu Investment, if they find out that she is pregnant with her father-in-law's child? And what about Dante? Surrounded by societal norms, enemy threats, and the fact that he already has a family, will he abandon the child and his developing feelings for a woman half his age? “He’s my husband’s father… twice my age… and now I’m carrying his heir. If the world finds out, it won’t just ruin me, it could destroy us all.”

Chapter: Control is an illusion
CHAPTER 28The air inside the investigation room was stifling, the atmosphere thick with tension. Two men sat across from each other, a single metallic table set in between them. The table was littered, papers and documents scattered like autumn leaves on it, and a metal cuff that clung to no one in particular. Detective Aaron Adler leaned forward, his elbows resting on the desk. He placed his chin on his intertwined fingers, his gaze locking on the man opposite him. His eyes were sharp. He had the look of a man who believed he had finally won. On the other side sat Dante Krüger, unreadable. His arms were folded across his chest, shoulders squared, and his face devoid of expression.Aaron studied him for a long moment, his lips then curling into a faint, triumphant smirk. “I finally did it,” he muttered under his breath, his tone heavy with sadistic pleasure. Across from him, Dante didn’t move. His frown remained fixed, his gaze steady. For a man accused of murder, illegal arms t

Chapter: Arrested
CHAPTER 27 Dante's calm voice cut through their conversation “Cassandra,” he called to her attention, but ended up getting both Viktor's and Aaron's. Cassandra looked at him. He met her eyes and asked “Where do you want to go?” At first, she said nothing. The question forced her to ponder deeply. In her sense, she needed a break from everything; the house, Viktor, the vows she took, the guilt, and most of all…Dante. The only place she could think of was home— the Adler family house. No one can just burst in if they wanted to. Unlike at Kara's place. Her thoughts faltered when she felt Viktor’s hand tighten around hers. Viktor's heart hitched when he felt Cassandra's hand slowly slipping out of his. She looked at him wearily, though it hurt to let go. “I think I’ll just visit home,” she said softly.Viktor’s jaw twitched, but before he could respond, she hurried to add, “I’ll be back by the weekend. I’m not going forever.” She gave him a weak smile. “I’m married to you, remember?

Chapter: Not this again!
CHAPTER 26The world around them slowly melted away, silence seeping in as Cassandra's eyes fluttered shut. Her hands moved from Dante’s chest to the back of his neck, her fingers grazing his skin. Then, without hesitation, she wrapped her arms around him, pulling him closer and deepening the kiss. Her heart was racing, a cold, thrilling sensation running down her spine. She knew she was crossing a line they both might not recover from, a boundary that once broken could ruin them both. But at the same time, she felt like her heart was in the right place. Dante didn't resist her. He couldn't. He had lost all control, his composure crumbling the moment Cassandra's lips touched his. He kissed her back, slowly at first, then with a hunger that surprised even him. His insides tingled with a mixture of guilt and excitement. Every subtle movement she made seemed to intensify the wave of desire washing over him. Something dark began to stir within him. At this point, he was fighting to re

Chapter: Bang!
CHAPTER 24The second attack came faster than Cassandra had expected. Racheal's eyes had gone feral, her pace increasing with each step she took towards Cassandra. Her gaze, formerly trembling with fear had been replaced by raw, murderous intent. Burning so brightly that Cassandra could see it. She could feel it. With a snarl, Racheal came forward, swiftly closing the space between them, her blade slicing through the air. Cassandra tried to dodge as much as she could, but Racheal's attacks were becoming more precise, more calculated. Her hands were still tied, yet Cassandra was the one struggling to keep up. In that moment, a sudden, searing pain tore through Cassandra's upper arm as the dagger cut into her flesh. She cried out, staggering backward and clutching the wound as warm blood seeped between her trembling fingers to the concrete floor. She quickly averted her eyes from the blood, pressing down on the wound. “Ah—!” Her breath hitched, panic rising up her throat. She wince

Chapter: MOVE!
CHAPTER 23She took a step back. The woman across from her noticed the retreat and quickened her pace, her eyes darting hungrily toward the dagger lying a few feet away. The faint shuffle of her bound legs against the cold concrete floor filled the suffocating silence between them.Cassandra held her breath, watching the woman reach out to the hilt of the weapon. Her desperate bid to free herself quickly proved to Cassandra that she was well aware of both their situations at the moment.A bloody fight to the death.Cassandra balled her fists, her fear, that gnawed and paralyzed her from the beginning, was starting to falter. There has to be another way, she told herself silently. If I don’t attack, maybe she won’t either. But the thought was foolish. Naive.Far away, in the darkened control room, Matilda watched the scene on a large surveillance screen. Her brow was furrowed, her lips drawn into a thin, tight line. “What is she doing?” she muttered to herself, a mix of confusion and w

Chapter: Final Initiation
CHAPTER 22From the car ride to the looming, eerie building, Cassandra knew only silence. A heavy, suffocating silence. The vehicle rolled to a stop with a soft halt, and her heart stuttered. Her eyes were covered with the blindfold, robbing her of sight, but she tried desperately to rely on her other senses. The air outside was still. She could hear nothing but the soft hum of the wind, the distant sounds of crickets, and the croaking of frogs somewhere nearby. It was as though the world itself was tensed. A firm hand wrapped around her arm, guiding her forward. The touch was delicate, and though Cassandra couldn’t see her, she was almost certain it belonged to Matilda. That suspicion was confirmed when Matilda's breath brushed her ear, her voice soft and reassuring.“You’ll be fine,” she whispered. Her words hadn't fulfilled their purpose. Cassandra was still uneasy, her brows knitted with fear. And then, just as suddenly, the touch changed, a colder grip took over. Cassandra was
