She stood by the floor-to-ceiling glass window, gazing out at the vast, churning ocean as if she had drifted entirely out of this world. A sudden gust of wind caught her hair, whipping the loose strands across her face. She wore a long white shirt that billowed slightly around her frame, looking unmistakably oversized—like it belonged to someone else entirely.
Lost in the horizon, she didn't hear the footsteps approaching from behind. A strong, muscular arm suddenly wrapped tightly around her waist, dragging her back against a broad, hard chest. He buried his face in her neck, breathing in her scent before pressing a slow, deliberate kiss to her cheek. She didn't flinch. Her stillness revealed that she had known he was there all along.
