“Katherine, are you satisfied now?”
Rachel struggled to sit up. Her carefully painted makeup had long since been ruined by mud, water, and tears. Seeing her in this miserable state, I suddenly recalled the past—how she always used this exact same pitiful expression to make Carlson break the rules for her, again and again.
