How bad could the day get?

“Nothing,” she whispered.

I yelled at her, I couldn't hold it anymore. She was starting to irritate me.

I had been trying to console myself all through the day so I wouldn't ruin it, but now she had made sure, she pestered me enough to provoke me.

I stared back at her, and noticed that her eyes were slightly moist with tears. I would have left her to cry all she wanted because she deserved it anyway, but that would only ruin my plan.

I had already done enough, to think of backing down just because of a mere question.

“The call came from work, it was something that needed my urgent attention,” I said, but I could tell that she didn't buy it.

“I can’t proceed if you don’t look at me at least.”

My hands reached for her chin, making her stare at me, there were tears in the corner of her eyes. So flimsy.

“I didn’t mean to yell at you, I have just been so stressed out that’s why I am acting out, please forgive me.”

My hands caressed her thighs, but she removed them immediately, blinkin
