I waved the napkin in the air trying to chase out the burning smell of the fries out of the kitchen.

"Aren't you done?" I heard Jace abruptly startling me and I jumped in fright.

"Gosh. You scared the hell out of me." I said looking at him.

"Sorry about that. Just that mother was wondering what is taking so long." He said and I sighed.

"You can't blame me. I tried making it the perfect dish but it happens I have lost some of my

cooking skills." I said and he walked into the kitchen.

He stared at the fries and sighed.

"We can dish the fresh one to mother, or better still order one for her." He said and I shook my

head.

"No. My cooking can't just go to waste that way. It was just a little burn. It's still tasty." I said

dipping one into the sause and feeding it to him.

He took it with his mouth as we stared at each other.

"How does it taste?" I asked breaking the intense stare that was beginning to swallow me.

"It's.. great. She would love it." He said and I nodded ha
