Chapter 7

Emily opens one eye, only to see a gray-colored wall, she gently lifts up her head to look at the window. A frown crept up to her face as she remembers that she didnt close the window last night; she forgot to. But now that it's closed, she chose to not worry about any longer then she turned to the other side.

She expected for her mother to be there, standing and greeting her a good morning then plant a kiss on her forehead. But what she saw shocked her.

Lucius

He had his right arm covering his eyes. His naked chest rising up and down slowly.

Why is he here?

Ignoring the question she has in mind, she wanted to take this opportunity. For a girl having no boyfriends since diapers, she needed to do this.

With heavy breathing and heart beats shifting to a fast rate: she pursed her lips, gently lifting her head to rest on his chest and she snaked her arm across to cuddle.

"Last night wasn't enough?" Lucius' husky voice sent her chills run down her spine.

Emily felt alarmed, her body tensed. "You used your powers and took advantage of me?" Her voice came out cracking. She felt hot tears in her eyes and she tightened her cuddle, pulling —almost squishing—him closer.

She knows she didn't want this to happen. Her purity is a gift for her husband in the future, especially when she's at the right age to marry. But now that she's 17 and married to a hell king who looks hot and mighty, there's no doubt.

"Kidding." He reached for her hair looking like a bird's nest and ruffled. "Birds can now lay eggs on hairs."

She lifted her chin to face him with a blank expression.

"What? Don't you get it? Your hair's a complete mess." Lucius grinned.

Rolling her eyes at him, "Go to Hell." with all the strength she has in her, she pushed him off the bed as he ended up falling with a loud thud.

"Hopefully soon." He groaned.

Emily, being lazy as she is, crawled to the other side of the bed to look at Lucius then mumbled, "Hopefully sooner."

A pillow flew right towards her and she swiftly planted her face to the bed, avoiding it. Soft thuds came out when the pillow hit the window and fell to the bed.

She lifted her face and glared at Lucius, when exactly, it was his feet. Slowly, she travelled her eyes up. His jeans hang lowly on his hips, his six-pack making her narrow her eyes, and the way how his muscles flexed when he ran his fingers down his messy hair made her gulp down the nervousness that formed in her mouth.

Dear Heavens.

"Are you that desperate to kick me out?" He faked a dramatic gasp.

"Oh please." She restrained herself from giving out a smirk by feigning an irritated look. Grabbing the pillow with her, she slipped her feet to her slippers. She marched towards Lucius and hits the side of his face hard but he remained firm in his place.

Realizing her situation, she dropped the pillow on the floor and ran to the door with a nervous chuckle escaping her lips and her hand pressed lightly against her chest, trying to catch her breath.

Lucius bended over slowly and grabbed the pillow, he turned to face her with a brow raised and an amused smirk tugging on his lips.

Before Lucius could make a move, Emily disappeared from his sight, leaving him with a smirk slipping off his face.

Loud tapping erupted from the running she made - her slippers colliding with the varnished wooden floor. She laughed in triumph with her head slightly tilted back.

As she was about to take a step down the stairs, a great force hits her head. Her foot slips, she lets out a loud yelp as the back of her head hits the edge of a tread. Her fingers fumbled to the handrails but to her dismay, she held nothing. Her vision suddenly goes black.

All she could hear are muffled voices of a man and a woman. Noisy. Deafening and Annoying noise. She wanted to wake up and silence whoever was making the noise; they were disturbing her in her sleep.

She fluttered her eyes open, and a blinding light greeted her. Pulling her right hand to her eyes, shielding. She groaned in frustration as she feels her head pounding excruciatingly against her skull.

"Honey? Are you alright?" Her mother clasped her hands with the hand Emily used to shield her eyes. Victoria looked at her daughter with weary eyes.

"What happened?" Her voice croaked. Why was her mother looking at her like that? Had she drowned herself in too much alcohol last night? No, that couldn't be.

Why is my head throbbing so hard?

"You don't remember?" Victoria tightened her hold on Emily's hand. Anxiety painted all over her face and she resisted the urge to cry.

"What are you talki– Argh!" With her other hand, she reached for her head and tried to squeeze tight despite of how solid it is. She wanted to stop the intense pain she's feeling right now. Closing her eyes, she wanted to pound her head against a wall.

"Don't worry, Victoria. She's suffering from concussion." Lucius voiced out. Sliding his hand under her head, he lifts her head up slowly. "Please go get a knife and a pillow for me, Victoria."

"Knife?"

"Please." Lucius glanced at her with a worry look.

Victoria releases her hold and reluctantly scrambles herself up.

Emily grabs hold of Lucius forearm and looks at him with glazed eyes, "If I die.. play Shawn Mendes' Stitches on my funeral, and attach skull stickers on my casket."

In her words, Lucius' lips stretched to form a big smile, "You're still hilarious in a state like that."

"Just remember that you're annoyingly handsome and I want to strangle you to death but I have no choice."

"Emily, if you die, your soul gets to be stuck in Hell."

"No.. I will go to Heaven."

"How? You did marry yourself to a hot hell King."

"It was a mistake."

"Ouch, you've hurt me." He places his other hand on his chest, feigning pain and to create a more dramatic look.

Emily retreats her hold and brought her hands to her head, furiously and frustratedly rubbing her temple.

"Lulu, I have them."

"Fold the pillow into half and put it under her head." Lucius entreated.

Victoria does as what she's told, she gently slides the pillow under her head while Lucius quickly pulls his hand out.

Lucius' fingers tightened around the handle of the knife on his left hand. He raises his right hand and gently slits his wrist, "Open your mouth."

Emily's eyes widened, "No!"

"Too late." He grinned in triumph at her.

Three drops of thick, warm liquid dropped on her tongue. Feeling nauseous, she swallowed his blood and flinched, "Disgusting."

The throbbing of her head pounded like waves which made her shut her eyes.

"Sleep, Emily."

Lucius glances at sleeping Emily, her left arm hanging limply off the couch while her right forearm had itself draped across her face, covering only her eyes. She had her mouth slightly open and soft snores comes out.

He brings his eyes back to Victoria. Laughing as she reminisces the memories when her daughter was a mindless, innocent little angel. She pointed at little Emily's photo. The little girl had her hair tied up in pigtails, she was looking straight with her eyes wide open and her mouth formed a big smile, showing her two missing teeth at the front. Victoria flipped to the next page, pointing to the same little girl but she grew slightly taller, her teeth was complete and she had her arms crossed over her chest.

"She was furious here. Her daddy told a random boy, her age, that she has a major crush on him."

This time, Victoria's expression changed. She looked at him, eyes filled with remorse, "Please take good care of my daughter."

He stared at her eyes blankly. He wondered what could've gone inside her head. Why she is acting this way so sudden.
