Makaila's POV
"Okay, back up just a sec. You and Christian almost kissed! Like the Christian!" Rita screamed, all excited and I had to wince as my eardrums were getting it. Excited Rita means you are loosing one of your eardrums...
...if not both.
"No, the other Christian who sells burgers at Alisha's." I said, sarcasm laced in my voice and she looked at me all confused.
Gosh, Rita!
"Yes Rita. Our Christian and yes, we almost kissed" I clarified for her. Bad idea because she went into another fit of screams again. "Jesus, Rita. Keep it down." I whisper-yelled at her and she quickly clasped her hand over he mouth, bursting into a fit of giggles.
"Sorry, I'm just really excited for you. I mean it's about damn time. I was this close to hooking you up with someone from my drama club." She deadpan and I widened my eyes.
Makaila's POVOn our way to the Library I couldn't help but think about Christian. His countenance changed when Jackson came over and it was so abrupt. I didn't miss the way they looked at each other like they were going to murder themselves. The tension between them was massive. Did they have an history together or something? All of this was new to me. It seemed like I was caught in between a rift and that was the last thing I wanted. Jackson was cool, but lately I haven't been getting the best vibe around him. Christian on the other hand was much more. He seemed cared a lot about me and he certainly loved to show it. He went all out to make us be friends. He risked his friendship with his teammates. No one as ever done such for me. Maybe Rita was right. Maybe he had feelings me. Or maybe I was just over thinking it. Gahhh!
Christian's POV"You are saying he threatened you." Nigel asked for the umpteenth time and I rolled my eyes in utter frustration and anger. "Yes, he threatened me and threatened to do something to Makaila. I just don't know what." I scratched my temple. "He threatened to do something to Makaila and you let her go with him?! Are you this daft, Christian." Nigel asked rhetorically and I groaned. "What was I supposed to do?! Tell her she couldn't tutor the new guy? Even if I did that, what would be my reasons?" I asked him and he sighed. "Maybe you should just tell her what happened between both of you." He suggested and I scoffed. "Then, her notion about me from the beginning would be right. I rather not tell her anything. It's better if she doesn't know." "And risk her hearing from Jackson's side? Christian, use your head!" Nigel snap
Christian's POVI followed behind as Makaila was wheeled into the hospital. She had already lost consciousness but she was connected to oxygen to keep her breathing. I held her hand and kept whispering to her that everything was going to be fine even though she couldn't hear me. Nigel had followed behind. As Makaila was about to be wheeled into the theatre, a nurse stopped me. "I'm sorry but you can't go in with her. You have to stay out here" The nurse said and I frowned at her. Every rational thought had escaped from my mind when Makaila called so at the moment I wasn't thinking. "What the fuck do you mean! I have to go inside. She needs me there." I snapped at her and she flinched. Then she called a male doctor close by to hold me back. "Please, you have to calm down. Our doctors would try everything to make sure she is okay." A male doctor told me. I was going to argue with hi
Christian's POVSoon Makaila got back on her feet, tho with a little limping. While Rita was still checking with her parents if Makaila could live with them, I asked her to live with me. She firstly declined because of Bethany. Though I tried to assure Makaila that Bethany wasn't a threat, I felt that she was going to be, especially after the episode of last time. Makaila agreed anyway. To avoid suspicion, Nigel would come every morning to pick her up. Not that it mattered because Bethany has started avoiding me, hanging out with the cheerleaders and the team. Tyler and the guys were also avoiding me. Football season wasn't close by so I didn't have to face them at practice. Let's not forget Jackson. I've been keeping my eyes out for him but he didn't seem to be doing anything bad at the point. That even made it sketchier. I became really protective of Makaila. Nigel as well.
Makaila's POV"How are you not an Art Major? You are really good at literature." Jackson said and I let out a light chuckle. We were taking a break from study and Jackson went us to get something to eat from Starbucks. I told him not to, but he insisted. "I am just doing it for extra credit. I'm working towards getting a scholarship to study at a very good university." I stated and he nodded in understanding. "Plus, it was either this or AP government. I hate government." I added and he laughed. "Yeah, I hate government as well." He said and I chuckled, putting one French fries in my mouth and chewing on it. I could feel him watching me but I didn't look at him. "You know it's impolite to stare." I told him, still not looking at him. I heard him chuckle. "I'm just trying to figure you out, Makaila. You still haven't told me about you." He folded his hands across his ch
Christian's POVRecap"Okay. Your turn." She said and I chuckled. "Okay, hit me." I told her and she feigned a thoughtful face for a moment. Suddenly she dropped a bomb on me. "Tell me about you and Jackson's history." She deadpan, leaving me awestruck. ______________________________________I didn't move. I was so dumbfounded by Makaila's question and I blamed myself for not thinking she would ask that question. Makaila was smart, very smart actually. I can't just tell her to stay away from someone and then the person goes erratic today and I wouldn't tell her why. She deserved to know anyway. She was already in the middle of it. But it was so hard. "Christian." Her soft, velvety voice jerked me out of my reverie and I looked at her. "I wa
Makaila's POV"Holy shit!" Rita exclaimed as soon as I told her about the kiss. Knowing Rita she would probably scream it out of the whole school to hear so I quickly palmed her mouth to muffle her scream of excitement. "Keep your voice down Rita. You want the whole school to hear you? They would have my head." I hissed at her. "I'm so sorry. I am just so excited. Finally, my prayers have being answered." She let out a dramatic sigh of relief and I rolled my eyes at her, trying to stop the smile from spreading on my lips. "Why are you so dramatic? For all I know it was just a kiss, nothing more." I acted like it was a normal stuff. But it certainly wasn't a normal thing. I mean, I just got my first kiss, from the guy I am falling for. "Was it? Was it really?" Rita raised an eyebrow at me. Okay, it wasn't a Normal kiss. It was fantastic. Christian is a fantastic kisser
Christian's POV"How the hell did he know that Makaila stays in your house?!" Nigel snapped as soon as I told him what went down with Jackson. I shrugged, still shocked and baffled."I have absolutely no clue." I replied, running my fingers through my hair. "He just said it like he knew my biggest secret." I added and Nigel scoffed."Well basically, it is your biggest secret. That and the fact that you are actually falling for Makaila." I looked at him, a new found shock written all over my face. He scoffed again and folded his hands across his chest."Don't give me that look, lover boy. I see the way you look at her, even a blind man can see the way you look at her. You are falling for her." He smirked and I rubbed the back of my neck nervously."Why do you make it sound like it's such a bad thing to fall for Makaila." I asked him but he shook his head."No, I am not saying it like it's such a bad thing." He clarified and I nodded. "It's a good thing, a really good thing. I'm actually
