Sierra's POV

It was a whole thing when free use went into effect, because it affected my family directly. Our house and property line fell in a free use zone, and it’s all that the news had been talking about for weeks.

The news was kind of just on all the time at our house, and so our conversations often followed the cycles. My stepdad Conor was very pro-free use, and he espoused the benefits daily, railing on about how he couldn’t wait to enact his newly acquired privileges as the homeowner.

“Thanks, mom. I hope so.” I said. That conversation took place on a Friday, the day before “Free Use Day”, as Conor had taken to calling it.
