Chapter 16. Piggy rides
Alexei and I join Anatoli, Tarja and the rest of his packmates for lunch. Borya and Pavel also have found their mates, Natalia from Poland is Borya’s mate and Pavel is mated to Megara.
“Hey girl! How are you and Pavel for a mate!?” I pull her in for a hug and look her up and down a bit. She blushes and he nudges her encouragingly. “Yeah, we found each other this morning at breakfast.” She melts into his side, next to him she is even tinier. He plants a kiss on her head.
“How ‘bout you guys? I mean your not mates, right?” Megara asks, you can see the gears in her mind working, trying to wrap her head around what it is between Alexei and I. “Nah, we’re just friends. What’s for lunch?” I wave her question away quickly before she can ask much more about what happened between him and I. I mean I had a good time and I’m down for a second time, but I don’t want everyone to know.

ALEXIS I turn on my hind legs and mid stride tendrils of the fog lick and curl around my paws. The fog feels cold, so cold to my fur, it penetrates my muscles, reaches my bones. ADRIANAI wake up to an annoying beeping sound, it’s repetitive and crawls under my skin, pushing the sleep out of my body. Beep.. beep.. beep.. beep.. beep.. it just keeps ringing. ADRIANA I hear someone running down the hallway, skidding to a halt in front of the door and slamming it open. “Adriana! You’re up!” Jenna darts through the room and lunges over the bed and squeezes me in her arms. “Will you never ever do that again! You scared us all shitless!” She sobs, crushing me in her arms. SANTIAGOGuilt hits me, hard. I know it was a shitty move to mark her to get her to shut op and comply, but I didn’t think about the consequences at that time. ADRIANA I twist and turn, but I can’t get into a good position. I try to turn on my side but something is limiting my range of motion, or someone. My whole side is warm and it sparkles, the air around me smells like sweet cardamon, black pepper and some hints of cedar wood. I open my eyes and look through the corner of my eye to the man beside me, softly snoring and lost in a deep sleep. I struggle to remember who he is and why I feel so at ease laying beside him.
