Kane shrugged before going to do as she said. He came back with a frown on his face which she took to mean that the prospect was nowhere in sight. Bridgette sighed and then smiled. Sammy wouldn’t be walking into a bloody scene which left Bridgette free to do as she pleased for a few moments. 

Bridgette grabbed  her hunting knife from the dining table and ran a finger across the blade, smiling at its sharpness. She ignored the mild sting as it bit into her flesh. She held her finger up for the other woman to see. The whole time that same sweet smile was on her lips.
