Chapter 2: Taken by Force

Xio together with the people around her are watching the scene between her best friend, Dawn and the man that was currently talked of the town. They were wondering what was happening to those two, even the apple seller was confused. The two of them were staring at each other like the people around them vanished into thin air and only the two of them were left alone.

Xio dramatically sighed but she's giggling out of the scene. She found it so surreal and intimate. She looks at the man and she notice something in his eyes, as well as in Dawn's eyes. So, she immediately run towards them and placed herself between the two, making them separated from each other.

 She cleared her throat and forced a smile. The two looked at her with questioning eyes. 

"What?" Dawn asked her calmly. 

Xio brows rise up and her lips formed a smirk which made Dawn questioned her more.

"I don't know what you two are doing but you must stop. You two were gaining too much attention. Look around," she said.

The two of them roamed their eyes and true to Xio's words, tons of pair of eyes were staring at them. 

Who can't advert their eyes at them? They are in the middle of the way, even though the seller place was on the side.

"Oh, sorry," Dawn apologized and put back her attention to the man but hes gone. He was missing already. How can he left that fast? Her lips parted, as she asked questions to herself. What happened was too fast. She was about to asked Xio but she was on the other side of the market again while the seller is busy arranging and fixing the apples now.

She picked another apple again and didn't even try to know if it's fresh or not unlike earlier. After she paid for it, she walks towards her best friend direction. She wants to call her and asked her if they could go home but she saw her being busy working some stuff. Dawn asked Xios' boss if he could tell to Xio that shes going home now first. 

Carrying the apple on her left hand, she rides in the train going back home. That man had so much effect on her and she really knows it's not a good thing in any possible way. 

Gathering all her strength, she run as fast as she could into the forest when her eyes caught a man running. His movements were fast, almost a blur on her sight. But as not typical as she is, she can clearly saw his movement. The man run so fast, passing through every tress in the forest and birds were chirping as she passed in front of them. 

She slows down her speed when something made her almost stumbled on the ground. She kneeled down and picked the intriguing object and stared on it as she scans the surrounding at the same time. Shes in the forest, it was dangerous and she need to be aware the most. 

But somehow, forest can make her calm. She smiled as she felt the calmness that the place brings. It was like shes home with unknown reason. She always makes sure that no one can see her every time she enters the forbidden forest of Canagan. The sun rays suddenly hit her face, she flinched a little and covered her face with the jacket she found. She walks towards a big tree and hides herself behind the big trunk. Now, she was at least protected from the sunlight. She puts down the jacket and realized that it was owned by the man that she was chasing. 

Dawn run again in the middle of the forest to find the man that lost at her sight like a flash of lightning. But after an hour of roaming around the forest, she lost her track. She was lost and confused. Behind her was a huge tree, an unusual kind of tree as the roots and branches were moving.

'Maybe I was hallucinating,' she thought and closed her eyes, hoping that everything will went back to normal. But when she opens her eyes again, it was really moving. 

She froze where she stands for a minute before she gains herself again and decided to run away with the jacket. She was frightened. How on earth can tree moves? She has a pair of weird secrets to keep but that was weirder.

After a minute of running, she finally found her way back home. She held her chest tightly as soon as she reaches the house. Xio was still not in there, probably working her ass off.

She was panting so hard while she remembers her experience at the forest earlier. She leaned her back on the door and close her eyes. Her heart was beating so hard. 

It wasn't her first time going to the forest, she went there countless times but this is the first thme she saw that kind of three. 

Hours passed, she was fully calm down herself then prepare food for them to eat in the dinner.

The sun was already set and replace by the moon that shone at night sky with stars tha were glimmering. 

Xio finally arrived at home. She saw Dawn, fixing the table for dinner. She felt exhausted today, if its not about her and her best friends goal she wouldnt work her ass off. Dawn noticed her and motioned the chair for her to sit down and eat. Xio is not jolly this night while Dawns mind was occupied with that man shes chasing and the moving three in the forest earlier.

After dinner, both of them went straight to their room to have some rest. Xio already closed her eyes, any minute from now she's in a deep sleep while Dawn, on the other hand, is preparing herself to go out. She wants to go to the forest again. Dawn wears the jacket that she got in the forest, the jacket of the man she's been wanting to see again. 

Dawn successfully sneaked out and run towards the forest. She did it quietly and quickly as always, every time she sneaks out from their house to the forest. 

This time, Dawn knows her way. She directly run towards the direction of moving three that was vivid in her mind. She slows down when she was almost near and hide to observe the surrounding. When she saw that there is no one, she gets out from where she hides. But to her surprise, two men suddenly appeared in front of her. They are wearing black hoodie with cape and Dawn cannot saw their face. It sent shivers down to her spine. Fear arose in her body. With her trembling knees, she tried to move backward.

She took a step back and tried to run away but ended up slamming herself on the ground. She felt a pain on her chest and she was one hundred percent sure that it causes her bruises. The two men grabbed her arm and she shivered when she felt that their hands were cold like a hoarfrost. 

Dawn found herself being dragged and blindfolded. She doesn't have any idea what her abductors were doing but she knows that they were still in the forest because of the sound of dry leaves she steps on. She wants to fight and be free from the grip of those these two men. But their holds on her arms were strong that she hasnt even have a chance to escape. How can she fight with strong like-bull men with her petite body? She can't see anything and she doesn't know where part of the forest she is now?

After minutes of being dragged by the two men, they finally stopped and she heard something opened. She tried to feel her surroundings but before she knew it, she was pulled by someone and push her into a cold floor. She heard some voices that were talking.

Dawn was forced to enter a dungeon made of thick iron-metal that sure no one can break into. Someone pushed her again and her back hits the cold cemented floor hard. She bit her lips to fight the urge to growl on the top of her lungs because of the sudden pain she felt on her lower back. She suddenly closed her eyes when she felt a different sensation in her body and she knows it won't do anything good at her situation right now.

Before she could talk, something was put on her hands and she realized that it was chains. She was being chained by who know who? Then after that, someone removed her blindfold and it came to her view the two men who abducts her, walking out of the dungeon she was. Leaving her behind.

After a few minutes, Dawn managed to calm herself and she felt the pain faded away. She roamed her eyes around to look for escape. But aside from the metal bars and the dungeon has no widow, her hands and feet were chained. It is impossible for her to do so.  

Now, Dawn felt helpless. 

She was taken by force.
