LET ME GO

The car parked carefully in the yard and they both stepped out while laughing over a few things. She looked around the yard and smiled as she recalled the last time she was here. That was the day she had caught Femi and Asa making out and it kind of brought back bad memories to her. She was glad to have forgave them as it had helped her move on so easily.

“Where is your grandma?” She asked as she looked at the usual spot the old lady used to sit under the tree.

“Oh, I guess she has gone to the farm,” he replied as they walked to the porch.

They walked into the house and she looked around the unfurnished living room which had stayed the same since she left.

“I guess she’s in the room,” he said and she nodded as she followed him over to the passage.

As the door of the room creaked open, she could see Asa lying sideways on the bed with her baby bump which had become visible. She had grown so fat and her skin was so dark that she was hardly recognizable.

“Asa, is that you?” She ask
