Third Person's POV Aiden held the strange girl, who somehow felt familiar until she stopped crying. He glanced toward the tree line, looking for Thaddeus and wondering where he had gone. The front door swinging open draws Aiden's attention away from Thaddeus. The Omega saw a frantic Xander slide to a stop on the porch. His eyes move to the female in Aiden's arms, and the Beta freezes. Xander's body stiffened as he stared at the girl in his Luna's arms. The Beta just spent the last few minutes searching the pack house for Aiden. When he came out of the kitchen, the Omega was nowhere to be found. He checked the bathroom and nothing. He checked his room, and it was empty. The Beta’s stomach dropped at the thought that the Omega might have gone outside after he was told not to. Xander ran down the stairs faster than he ever had. Not only did the Omega ignore a direct order from the Alpha, but she was in his arms. “Mate!” Oz said as he pressed forward, staring at his mate and hatin
Third Person's POVAfter Xander gave Abigail clothes, they headed back downstairs so she could talk to her brother. She had so many questions and became eager to see him as they made their way down the stairs. As they made their way to the bottom of the stairs, Abigail instantly spotted Aiden standing near the door, awkwardly.Aiden stood there looking around, not quite sure what to do. He had so many thoughts going through his head, one of them was Thaddeus. Why did his wolf look so sad? Seeing his wolf drop his head and then turn and walk away... for some reason, it broke his heart. He couldn't figure it out. Aiden tried to think what could have possibly happened. He wondered where the Alpha went. And when he would come back? His thoughts then shifted to the white wolf. 'I have a sister!' he thought, as he began to play the events back in his head. Remembering the terrified look in the wolf's eyes as it looked at him. Remembering how its eye color seemed to change and began to glow.
*Warning, past sexual assault mentioned* Jackson's POV It's been a month now since Aiden ran away. We've been searching for him and can't find him anywhere. My father was so furious when he got away that he killed the two who were on border patrol that night, for letting him get away. My father was already supposed to step down and let my brother become Alpha. But he's been so angry, and even colder than he was before, that he hasn't done it yet. He keeps coming up with excuses, and quite frankly, I really don't care! The bastard's not making me Alpha, so I don't give a fuck what those two do! All I know is I can't stop thinking about Aiden. He's MINE and I want him back. I didn't realize how much he meant to me until he was gone. I didn't realize how much I wanted him until he ran away. I know he's not dead, even though everyone keeps saying he is. They keep saying he would never survive that fall, especially in his condition. My father said he got him good, he couldn't believe h
Thaddeus POV After running for a while, trying to blow off some steam, I finally came to the river. I went over and took a drink from it, then laid down with my head on my paws, my wolf whimpered as we lay there. Both of us were heartbroken. I should have known better, I should have never gotten my hopes up. As I ran through the forest, the words that I haven't heard in so long, played back through my head as if I just heard them. The words that were once so distant, from the years that have passed, were suddenly loud and clear again. The disgusted look on his face as he looked at my legs was clear again. I'm not sure how long I was actually there, trying not to think of their happy little reunion. Trying not to think of the mate I thought I had, but just lost. But it seemed like quite a while. Zeus whimpered again before we heard the sound of a twig snapping. I shot up, looking in the direction the sound came from. I let out a low growl in warning, at whoever it was. But I r
Third Person's POV As Xander obnoxiously carried a giggling Abigail away, Thaddeus looked back at Aiden who still looked nervous. It wasn't just nervousness that Thaddeus could see, he could also see the fear that lies underneath. "Come on sweetheart, let's go finish lunch." Thaddeus said, reaching forward and taking Aiden's hand into his and lightly tugging on it. Aiden smiled when Thaddeus called him "sweetheart". It made his heart skip a beat, and he felt a warmth spread through his chest. No one has ever talked to him so gently before, nor have they ever called him sweetheart. He looked down at Thaddeus's hand, seeing his small hand inside of Thaddeus's large one, feeling the tingles that dance across his skin from his touch. He looked up at Thaddeus when he felt a small tug on his hand. Aiden stood and followed next to Thaddeus as they headed back toward the dining room. Aiden hung back slightly, unsure if he should sit in the same spot or not. He waited until everyone was se
Third Person's POV Thaddeus rolls his eyes at Xander and Abigail when he glances over and sees the two of them making lovey-dovey eyes at each other, before Xander buries his face in Abigail's neck, making her giggle. He brings his attention back to Marcus, who was trying to talk to him through the link about the conversation he had with Alpha Michael during Abigail's little stunt when she broke through his territory and into Thaddeus'. Apparently, in the last day or two, they've been noticing an increase in scouts on the outside of their territory. This information is quite alarming and immediately puts Thaddeus on edge. "We have to talk about this later, I don't want to get upset in front of Aiden," Thaddeus said to Marcus, through the link. Thaddeus looks over at Aiden and sees he seems to be quiet and picking at his plate. He's not really eating, just pushing things around. Thaddeus wasn't sure why Aiden was like this, but he can definitely tell something was bothering him.
Third Person's POV Aiden was horrified when he saw Xander throw Abigail over his shoulders. Aiden thought Xander looked angry. 'Oh my goodness, what happened? What did she do wrong?' Aiden thought to himself. Aiden felt the panic rising, he didn't know how to help his sister. He was terrified that Xander was going to hurt his sister, or worse, kill her! The sound of a loud smack, made him think for certain Xander was definitely going to kill her! Aiden tried to think hard, desperately trying to think what he could possibly do to help the sister but became more panicked when he realized he was too small, too frail, and too weak. Thaddeus saw how scared Aiden was, he could almost feel Aiden's panic. Thaddeus reached over, gently grabbing Aiden's cheek and turning his head in his direction. Thaddeus cupped Aiden's cheek, lightly stroking it with his thumb, bringing Aiden's attention to his eyes. "It's okay, calm down. She's okay, he won't hurt her. They're just playing around, Xa
Aiden's POV I was so embarrassed, I knew everyone saw how clumsy I am. Before I could even pry myself off the ground , I suddenly felt strong hands, grip my waist and lift me off the ground before setting me on Thaddeus's lap. The movement was so sudden, I almost yelped, my hands flew out before wrapping around. Thaddeus to steady myself. I looked back at Thaddeus and My face felt like it was on fire. I knew for certain my face was bright red, judging by how hot it felt. I looked at Thaddeus, I watched an amused look spread across his face, probably from seeing the blush on my cheeks. That embarrassed me even more, so I quickly pressed my face against his chest to hide, wanting to disappear. I felt Thaddeus kiss the top of my head, and my heart skipped a beat... ' Did he just kiss me?' I wondered. For some reason that made me happy and I felt this warmth spread through my chest. No one's ever given me affection before. No one's ever hugged me, let alone kissed me. The only thing
