The moment Amelia ran out of the room, someone had discreetly followed her as soon as the crowd was over the shock of Ryan’s announcement. She’d run out of the compound into the street without second thoughts but now that she was outside, she was beginning to second guess her decision. The street was empty, except for the lights illuminating her environment. Dread rolled down her spine, a cold shiver attacking her as she glanced around. She should have found a means to get home before running out of the house but there she was, stranded and all alone.

Knowing it'd be a terrible idea to return, she began walking down the street while trying to order a Lyft but then the huge gates of the Davidson’s mansion opened and a car rolled out, driving towards her. Amelia glanced back to see it wasn’t Ryan’s and disappointment washed over her.
