CHAPTER SIX

Samantha just stood there and watched in complete shock. She couldn't move, her heart and thoughts were racing, thinking of what to do but she couldn't come up with anything yet. She just stood there like a ghost, watching her husband shred her soul to pieces. An idea and with shaky hands, she took her phone out of her bag and made sure she took a short video of them then she took a picture and the shutter sound suddenly made them aware of her presence in the living room.

They froze as they saw her and the woman swiftly got off Jace's legs then wore her shirt while she stared at Samantha with a scared and horrified look on her face. Jace was still struggling with his briefs as Samantha took a good look at the woman's face and saw she was the new neighbor that just moved in next door a month ago, exactly when Jace changed until she threatened to divorce him. With that, she turned and left for their room but heard the bang of their door. She was sure it was the neighbor that rushed out.

She felt like she was too calm, she was numb all over but she couldn't control the short gasps and the difficulty to breathe that had overcome her. She sat on the edge of the bed and bent over to palm her face as the weight of what she just saw hit her massively and the tears came nonstop. Her eyes were clouded, her heart felt heavy and her soul was already shattered into pieces. Her husband cheated on her! She had to do something about it because if she couldn't, she wouldn't be able to share this bed with him again… she couldn't, absolutely not.

Immediately she stood up with a stronger resolve as she sniffed and wiped her tears while it came running down her face nonstop. She opened the closet and began to pack Jace's things out. She opened the door to the room and flung them out into the living room where he stood half naked and speechless until he saw his clothes drop in front of him and he followed Samantha into the room as she was already packing another set of his clothes.

"Sam don't do this please. You know I love you, we can talk this out, forget about it. She means nothing to me but you do… we can go for couple's therapy to get over this if you want" he rambled on and on and Samantha stopped once he talked about the couple's therapy. She dropped his clothes on the floor and headed straight for him. She slapped him hard on the face once she got to his front then slapped him again before he could recover from the first one "couple's therapy?" She asked with a shaky voice and scoffed "you're the one that needs therapy" she added and sat on the edge of the bed, her eyes blank but cold and distant that her demeanor scared even Jace. She had never slapped him no matter how much they fought, this was a first and he knew there was no settling this night… he was going to try the next day though.

"Get out now" she said and he nodded

"I'll sleep on the couch. We'll talk tomorrow"

"There's no couch for you to sleep on here. I mean you should leave the apartment. Get out Jace… now!" She replied firmly and he began to take steps towards her "don't be like this Sam…"

"I'll call the police if you don't leave" she interrupted him immediately and he stopped moving. He sighed and packed his clothes that were on the floor then went ahead to pack the ones in the living room too before he left the apartment and closed the door after him. Once he was gone and silence took over the apartment, Samantha felt the weight of her crushed heart and soul again and began to sob, loudly this time.

She took her phone and called Olivia. She picked on the first ring and sounded sleepy "hey babe, why'd you call so late? Anything wrong?" She asked and Samantha began to cry again, making Olivia wake up fully as the sleepiness disappeared immediately "hey Samantha, speak to me, what's wrong?" She prodded her and after sniffing to get her voice, Samantha spoke up

"He cheated on me Olivia, he was right there on our couch fucking her… oh my God" she said and burst into tears again.

Hearing that alone, Olivia shot up from her bed and put on the first thing she saw in her wardrobe then rushed out of her place to the taxi she ordered minutes ago.

The taxi drove her to Samantha's place and six minutes later, she was there. She knew the lock code so she put it in and went in immediately after closing the door and locking it from inside in case Jace would try to come in. She followed the sound of Samantha sniffing and sobbing and found her in her room on the floor with a bottle of alcohol in her hand and half of the drink was gone already. She rushed over to her and hugged her

"Aww baby, I'm here now. Just let it all out, I'll clean your tears for you. Let it all out until you feel nothing for that douche anymore" she told Samantha and gently patted her on the head.

"I'm so happy you're here Olivia, I thought you won't make it"

" Of course you know I'll always make time for you, no matter what the time says" Olivia replied and wiped her tears as Samantha looked up at her with tear stricken and swollen eyes.

"He cheated on me Olivia, after all these years. I trusted him and he did this to me, he cheated on me in our home with our neighbor. He was right there on the couch, I took a video but I can't watch it. It'll kill me" Samantha cried out as she took another swing from her bottle.

Olivia didn't stop her because she knew she needed the drink to numb the pain she was feeling. She took the phone and went to Samantha's gallery to view the video and picture. She found them and after watching it, she was full of rage too.

She dropped the phone and turned to a drunk Samantha to look at her. She didn't care if she was drunk or not, she was going to say what she had in mind and if she couldn't remember the next day, she was going to drill it into her ears again.

"Look at me Samantha" Olivia ordered and Samantha looked at her still crying as she drank the alcohol again.

"You Samantha Cosgrove are going to divorce Jace immediately, you don't deserve to stay with a douchebag like him and stop crying, he's not worth the tears you're shedding. Okay?" She said firmly and Samantha just nodded before she finished the last of the drink in the bottle then pushed it aside.

She laid on Olivia's lap and sighed as Olivia continued patting her hair "is it me? Am I not enough for him?" Samantha questioned and Olivia shook her head "never ever question yourself Samantha, especially over Jace's action. It was his choice to cheat on you so you have nothing to do with it… you're divorcing him or I'm never speaking to you again because he doesn't deserve you" she replied and Samantha closed her eyes as she weighed Olivia's words in her mind.

She loved Jace but didn't trust him anymore. He was definitely going to do it again if she forgave him and forgiving him meant she would lose her best friend of nineteen years and she couldn't afford to do that, Olivia was her lifeline and backbone… they needed each other, they were more like sisters. She sighed and began to feel sleepy. She was going to divorce Jace, Olivia was right, he didn't deserve her just as she deserved better too. Starting all over wasn't so bad and that was what she was going to do. She was still deep in thoughts until she fell asleep, tears still escaping from her closed eyes as the hurt still showed on her face even though she was deep asleep.

****************

Alpha Dominic arrived at his penthouse after he was done with his work for the day and got down from his car then gave the key to one of his guards to drive it to the garage where his other cars are kept. With a tired face and sluggish steps, he walked into his house and met Ferdinand waiting for him to take his jacket once he pulled it off so he'd have his dinner. He took off his jacket and handed it to Ferdinand and he took it with a smile and bowed before following him to the dining room to oversee how his dinner will be served. He gave the jacket to a maid and gave instructions to draw a hot bath for the alpha so he'll be able to relax his body once he is done eating. She quickly took it to his room and drew the bath for him in the bathtub before she left the room.

Dominic's eyes were tired and Ferdinand could see it. The alpha looked extremely stressed and he was sure it was due to work and thinking over how he would eventually meet his mate and when he would meet her. He knew Dominic in and out so he was transparent to him and he could figure what was running through his mind and how to help him every single time, he didn't need to be a werewolf to be able to read his mind and needs.

"How was work alpha?" Ferdinand asked and Dominic just nodded in response because his mouth was filled with food. He was obviously hungry and Ferdinand felt for him… poor Dominic.

"What about your subordinates? It's been a while since I heard from them" he asked further and Dominic swallowed "they're all good. Williams went home to his wife since she's pregnant, James and Audrey went to the club to party since it's a weekend" he replied and Ferdinando nodded… he didn't say anything else again as he let his master eat the rest of his dinner in silence.

Alpha Dominic was soon done with his dinner and the table was cleared immediately by maids. He stood up and stretched then made to leave for his room as Ferdinand spoke.

"A bath has been drawn for you master. All you need to do is take a bath and rest for the night" Dominic smiled at the thought of taking a warm and long bath "thanks Ferdinand, good night" he replied and ran up the stairs, skipping two at a time until he got to his room and went straight for the bathroom as he pulled off his clothes and dropped them on the floor. He got into the bathtub and a long sigh of relief escaped his lips as he closed his eyes and laid back in the bathtub. He got out soon and dressed up in his pajamas before retiring to bed where he sat and picked a picture from inside his bedside drawer, it was his mother in the picture. A sad smile grew on his face as he gently dragged his finger on the picture, following the outlines of his mother. He laid down on his bed and placed the picture on his chest as he wished she was still alive. Maybe she would be a better parent than his father that he never got along with. He made a silent promise to his mother; he would find his mate and have children so their family legacy would go on and he hoped that would make her happy wherever she was watching over him. Seconds later, he was out and fast asleep as light snores escaped his lips due to how tired he was.
