Davina Adams

“Get up, we are running late”

Marian’s voice kept bugging me throughout my sleep, I had to just sluggishly get up and put on a trouser and a shirt. I didn’t take a shower because we were already two minutes late for the breakfast meeting.

“Why didn’t you wake me when you wanted to go bath?” I asked while I brushed my hair backward.

“Because you looked like an angel while sleeping, now let’s go before they kick us out of here on our very first day!” She screeched. She dragged me by my arm towards the door, we walked down the hallway and into the cafeteria which had a very long table and chair placed before each other, with people seated already. Marian dragged me towards two empty sit which we both sat on.

“I can’t believe they didn’t give us dinner yesterday,” she said sadly.

“Get over it Marian,” I said while scrolling through my phone. I didn’t fail to leave a message for Mr. Thompson, I had told him I had gotten into the wolf academy and he was pleased with the news.

Soon, the table got fuller and we got served our breakfast. People were all chatting amongst themselves while we ate, Marian on the other hand, was busy talking to a girl seated right beside her. I simply ate my breakfast calmly until it was finished, after we were all done eating, some group of maids came and cleared the table.

A man then walked into the hall and I recognized him to be Beta Noah, he was holding a paper and a pen, and he took a sit before us.

“Good morning everybody, today I’m pleased to inform you all that the Alpha will be taking part in the training process.” He said, my heart skipped a beat at the mention of Alpha Raiden.

“Though the Alpha will not be teaching everyone,” he snapped his fingers and two ladies came forward with a tray of neatly folded papers placed on them. “On this tray paper with the name of the teachers, you will pick a paper and whoever’s name you have on it will be your teacher.”

“I hope I get Alpha Raiden,” Marian said dreamily beside me. I rolled my eyes, I pray I don’t get Alpha Raiden, that man scares the crap out of me.

The girls walked to each person and they picked the paper on the tray, when one of them walked over to me, I muttered prayers before I picked a neatly folded paper.

After everyone had picked the papers, the girls went back and stood behind the beta. “Please you may all now open your papers,” the beta said. I calmly unfolded my paper, the name that stared back at me almost made tears slip right out of my eyes, I had gotten Alpha Raiden.

“Who did you get?” Marian asked excitedly, She was busy unfolding hers. “I got Beta Noah,” she said, her voice lynched with sadness.

“I got Alpha Raiden,” I said sadly.

“You are so lucky!” She beamed happily. No, I wasn’t lucky, I was trying so hard not to get Alpha Raiden. I’m certain his class will be hard to pass.

“If you got the Alpha’s name, please stand up,” Beta Noah said, for a moment I wanted not to stand up, but, with the way Marian kept elbowing me, I had to stand.

We were a total of ten people standing, could this day get any worse for me?

“Please follow me to the Alpha’s class” A lady dressed neatly in a suit came through the door. We all did as told, Marian gave me a thumbs up before I left. The lady took us all into another part of the academy.

“This is the Alphas chamber, he is awaiting you all in there.” She said, the ten of us all nodded and entered into the door she had pointed to. We entered the slightly dark room and I could hear the girls mumbling.

“Welcome Students!” The husky voice of a man echoed through the room, the voice sent a shiver running down my spine at its iciness. Suddenly, the lights got turned on and a figure which I knew very well stared back at us, well I was toast, it was the man from yesterday.

“I’m Alpha Raiden and it’s a pleasure teaching you all,” He said, I couldn’t believe I had met Alpha Raiden already but not in a very good way. I had almost pushed him down the stairs, his presence was already depriving me of air, I could feel bids of sweat forming on my forehead, what have I gotten myself involved in?

The bang of the door getting shut brought me out of my mental battle, Alpha Raiden got up and walked over to where we stood. I immediately looked down in other to avoid his gaze, I can only hope he doesn’t recognize me from yesterday.

“Let’s begin with an-“ He didn’t get to complete his statement, because, the beautiful voice of Selena Gomez, a human, echoed through the room. Someone’s phone was ringing.

“Whose phone is that?” It was only when he asked, that I realized it was mine. I immediately dipped my hand into my pocket and by then his eyes were fixated on me, from the way he stared at me, I was certain he recognized me.

“I’m sorry” I croaked, I didn’t know my throat had already run dry from fear.

“Pick the call up!” He commanded.

“It’s nothing important Alpha,” I said, my mother was the one calling, I was sure she just wanted to know how I was doing today.

“I said pick the call up!” He repeated in his Alpha tone, I cowered while I swiped and answered the call. “Put it on speaker!” He commanded, I didn’t dare defy the Alpha, I put it on speaker as requested.

“Hello mum,” I said softly.

“Davina, how are you today my love?” My mother said. Everyone's eyes were on me, including that of Alpha Raiden, his blue icy eyes stared at me intently.

“I’m good today, can i-“ She cut me short.

“I forgot to pack sanitary pads for you, I’m sure you’ll be getting your period tomorrow or next. Please try and get one before then” My mother said, I could hear the boys snickering beside me, some girls as well. The Alpha on the other hand stared at me with great interest. I wish the ground could swallow me right now.

I wanted to end the call, but the gaze of the Alpha was fixated on my phone screen. “Alright, mum,” I said.

“And one last thing, stay clear of that wicked Alpha, please I want to see you

In one piece. Okay, my love? Don’t do anything to piss him off, okay?” She said. The snickering got louder, Alpha Raiden seemed to be enjoying embarrassing me, he even had a smirk on his face.

“Okay mum, bye!” I said hurriedly and ended the before she could get the chance to say something more embarrassing.

I dared to meet the Alpha's gaze, his icy blue eyes bored into mine. “Hand me your cellphone.” He said, I unhesitatingly passed it to him.

In a split second, he threw my phone roughly across the room and it shattered, everyone gasped. “This should serve as a warning to anyone who dares bring a phone to my class, got it?” He said and we all nodded. I tried my best to push back the tears that were threatening to fall from my eyes, but I failed miserably. Truly, the rumors were right, Alpha Raiden was without a doubt a wicked, ruthless Alpha.
