RAIDEN’S POV

As I sat in my office, I could feel Davina's presence outside my door, hesitant to come in. I knew I had to face her eventually, but I wasn't sure if I was ready for it. Eventually, she knocked softly and walked in, looking nervous.

"Raiden, can we talk?" she asked tentatively.

I took a deep breath and nodded, gesturing for her to take a seat. "What do you want to talk about?" I asked, trying to keep my tone neutral.

"I just wanted to... apologize," she said, fidgeting with her hands. "I know I hurt you and I didn't mean to. I never wanted things to end up this way between us."

I felt a surge of anger rise up in me at her words, but I pushed it down. "You never wanted things to end up this way? You're engaged to another man, Davina. That's not exactly a great way to show someone you care about them."
