Chapter 5

How did he know me? Have we met before? I can't remember what we did, but I'm sure it's my first time meeting him. After all, I just got out of a pack from the 18 years of my existence.

I just smiled and greeted the prince back. They sat down on the seats across mine. They had a conversation which I tentatively listened to without joining their chats. They would ask me from time to time and I would answer them the things I just know. They seem to understand that I'm not quite a speaker, so they understood. I was grateful to them.

After their little catching up, Erima was called by his father. So it left me with prince Levi alone at the table.

“You hungry, princess?” he asked kindly. I'm not used to being called princess but I didn't tell him.

I shook my head and smiled kindly back. “I am just fine, Prince Levi. Thank you.”

“You sure? I'd like to take desserts, so if you want something to eat, I can get it for you instead.”

“No need for that, brother. Lady Sidrich and I will grab our own food. Right, my lady?” Prince Alastair's voice startled me, followed with his hand snaking around my trimmed waist.

I looked up at him. He stole a quick glance at me and smiled softly.

I shyly nodded my head. “Yes..”

“Okay, great. Then, should I take my leave now?” Prince Levi smirked.

“Yeah. It would be appreciated if you do so, prince Levi,” prince Alastair spoke.

His brother chuckled. “Fine. Enjoy your night, Lady Sidrich. Tell me if my brother makes you uncomfortable, alright?”

“I would never do that.” I heard prince Alastair murmuring as he sulked.

“Okay...” was all I could reply before the prince vanished into thin air.

I blinked my eyes.

“Prince Alastair...”

“Hmm?”

“Are you... are you a vampire?” I asked in curiosity. He glanced down at me and blinked his eyes twice.

“Let's go somewhere,” he replied to my question. He took my hand and hooked it to his arm before we dashed out from the huge hall.

We went to the balcony.

He leaned at the railings while I gaze up to the starry heaven. The moon was in full moon and it was so beautiful. I could feel my wolf beginning to stir and wanted to come out and run towards the woods. I've only shifted twice and never communicated with my wolf. She's a weak wolf due to the wolfsbane they forced us to intake. I forgot what she looks like.

“Do you like it here?” he questioned.

“Hmm... this place is less noisy and peaceful.” I smiled sweetly.

“I'm glad,” he said. “Anyway, to answer your question

Yes, I'm a vampire,” he trailed off.

He caught my attention. I shifted my gaze towards him. “Wow, really?”

He nodded. “Yes, but I'm also a werewolf.”

I gasped as my eyes widened. “That's... possible?”

He chuckled. “Of course, it is. His Majesty is a pure-blooded werewolf—an alpha specifically—while Her Majesty is a royal vampire.”

My lips formed an O, awed at what he said.

I blinked slowly. A thought crossed my mind. “You have a wolf, too?’

“Hmm, you are correct.”

“Really...?”

“Yes. If you want, I can show you my wolf.” He grinned.

“You w-will?” I stuttered.

He smiled kindly. “Of course.” He extended his hand. “Shall we?”

I reluctantly held his hand.

He smirked and pulled me closer to him, or chest pressed against each other. I gasped at our close proximity. My cheeks were burning.

“Hold on to me, alright?”

“H-Huh? But why?”

“Do you trust me, lady Sidrich?”

I thought for a second. Do I trust him? I just met him. Is it okay if I trust him?

I took a deep sigh before saying, “Yes.”

“Okay. Then, hold on to me tight and close your eyes.”

I did what was told.

Before I knew it, I felt my body falling, literally. I gasped but was unable to utter a word. I wrapped my arms around his neck as he drew upon me.

We jumped from the balcony of their castle...

I readied myself from the pain of the impact once we landed. For a brief second, I felt the same feeling of dying.

This is it, I'm gonna die...

However, the death I've anticipated didn't happen. Prince Alastair has landed swiftly on the ground, safe and sound, with me in his arms.

Slowly opening my eyes, I was greeted with his dark green eyes. His beautiful emerald orbs was staring straight back at me.

For the third time around, I felt a sudden wash of relief and safeness...

The first one was that particular night when I met the stranger who fed me with his blood.

The second time was when I thought lady Karheel and I were about to die after being attacked. But, prince Alastair was there to save us... to save me.

The feeling of being safe and protected around was too familiar.

I snapped out of reality when I heard him speak. “Are you okay, my lady?”

I blinked my eyes.

“Y-Yeah...”

He put me down on my feet. My knees were kinda shaking. I pulled away and took a step back.

He cleared his throat. “Are you sure? Did I scare you? My apologies for shocking you.”

“Did we... Did we just jump from t-the balcony?”

“Oh, ah that...” He straightened his back and put his right hand on his chest. He bowed his head as a proud smirk made its way to his lips. “Yes, my lady.”

Again, for the ninth time of this day, I was in awe. Everything seems unreal to me. I'd never met a half-breed before. It must be nice to experience these things.

“Being a vampire and a werewolf at the same time gives a lot of perks, and I'm about to show you some of my abilities.” Again, he extended his hand. “Let's go?”
