A date to set

I stared at my blank phone and wondered if he would pick up the call if I called him again. I was going to try to talk to him this tie and not panic. I took a deep breath and dialled his number. It kept ringing but he wasn't picking up. I can't blame him for not wanting to pick up the call after I called him twice and didn't say anything. He was clearly not as desperate as I was. He didn't need me to marry him but I needed to marry him and I needed to do it soon.

My second appointment with the doctors were coming soon and although I don't plan on ever going to any of the appointments, I needed to make sure my parents accepted him with no questions asked. "I guess I can wait a while you think," I heard a familiar voice and immediately snapped me out of my thoughts. I stared at my screen unable to form words and making sure I didn't end the call. "I guess you are still thinking," he said again and I smiled.

Why was I smiling? He couldn't see me smile. "I guess I will have to call you again, maybe when you stop thinking…" I interrupted him before he ended the call. "Wait I already stopped thinking," I yelled. "Hey!" he said. "You almost destroyed my ear drums," he paused and spoke again. "Are you also going to get them treated or that is part of our marriage contract," he said and laughed. I didn't get the joke but I laughed along.

"That proves that you didn't end the call and can now comfortably talk to me," he said. "Well it does," I replied. "So I called this time," he said. "Yes you did and now that you called we need to talk about us," I said and regretted it immediately. There was no us, there was only me a contract and him. "We really need to talk about us. If I am going to get that contract, I need to make your parents believe I am in love with their little princess," he said and laughed. "That was not funny. I am not anyone's little princess. So please do not call me that," I said. "Okay, princess" he said slowly. "Hey I just said I am not anyone's princess," I said. "If I am going to be your husband, can't you be my princess?" he asked. "Are you asking or you are being sarcastic?" I asked him.

"Please be my princess?" he asked me. I waited a while before I replied. Was he really asking me to be his princess? "Only because she asked," I said.

"We do not have all the time in the world, at least I do not have all the time in the world," I said. "You can't keep using the death card on people," he said. "What death card?" I asked. "Don't worry. So when do we go on a date, can't wait to see you again," he said.

"Okay that is a lie, you saw me earlier," I said dismissing his words. "Why do you think I am lying?" he asked me. "I do not have any thoughts, I just want…"

"I want to hear your thoughts," he said. "It doesn't matter," I said. "It does," He said. "I will tell you what I think whenever we meet again," I said, I waited for a reply and got a hum in response. "Thank you," I sighed.

"So when are you free?" I asked him. "I am always free for you," he said. "Really? That is the worst pick up line I have ever heard in my life and I have a thing for pick-up lines," I said. "Do not worry love, I have a lot of lines down my jeans," He said and I laughed.

"Okay Romeo, Friday should be great," I Said. "What do you need to do on Friday?" he asked me. "We are going on a date on Friday," I said. "Are you dismissing my questions again?" he asked. "No I am not," I said. "Yes you are, you have your, you do not need to know voice," he said. "What voice? I have nothing to do on Friday," I muttered quickly. "See now you are being defensive," he accused.

"Stop it, I don't understand what you mean, I will see you on Friday," I said. "Okay babe," he teased and I laughed. "I will see you Friday, miss I do not have plans on Friday," he teased and hung up. "I am not," I groaned and tried to call him but he declined and avoided my calls.
