Mike

Mike decided to flank the man who was now rushing towards Marina. He heard him say ‘mine’ and that made him angry. He knew exactly what that meant. This man was a werewolf and wanted to lay claim to what was supposed to be Mike’s. What made his blood boil was when he heard those words came out of Marina’s mouth. He never knew that she was a werewolf, but when he heard the second wolf-like voice saying mine at the same time as Marina, he knew immediately she was. He wasn’t sure she knew. How could she?

He met her on her 14^th birthday. She had just been adopted by the Donaldson family who taught at his high school. Their eldest son, Casper was celebrating his 18^th birthday. Marina and Casper shared the same birthday and Casper decided to celebrate their birthday together. It was weird seeing a bunch of young girls at Casper’s party, but Mike knew they weren’t really there for Marina. Nope, they just acted like it, but you could see they all had the hots for Casper. Marina was sitting in the corner and you could see that she was feeling very uncomfortable, but still tried to look like she was having fun.

Mike tried to approach her a few times, but Casper and his brothers made sure no one came close to her, even though they knew Mike. He knew he had to find some way to draw her attention but no matter what he did he always failed miserably. It was at a science competition that he noticed that she had a thing for Volcano and he immediately knew that he could use that to his advantage as he, himself was fascinated by them. It took a while for the brothers to allow him to visit her without their supervision but eventually, they did.

It was about a year after that he first shifted. Some d**k tried to grab her while she was walking home from watching a movie with her friends. He had been watching her the whole day. They were supposed to meet up for an experiment but she canceled saying she was going out with a female friend. He had to make sure that she was safe or that is what he told himself. He knew that he wanted to make sure that she wasn’t lying to him. He sat through the whole movie, making sure that no one got close to her. When this d**k head tried to grab her, he got so angry that he felt like he was going to explode and that is exactly what happened. But when he had shifted, he struggled for some reason and was unable to come to her rescue. Marina on the other hand had taken care of herself and broke her attackers’ hand.

When he got home his father had to explain everything to him. Had explained that they had werewolf genes in them and that he was the first to shift in almost 100 years. He however had a deformity and his father had him swear to never shift again. If he was discovered, the witch who cursed his father would find him and torture him like he did his father.

Mike however paid no attention to his fathers’ warning and continued to shift every time Marina’s life was in danger. Which was a lot. Almost everyone knew that she was an orphan and they liked to tease her about it.

Mike tried everything so Marina could see who and what he was, but that just seemed to push her away even more. every time he would come around for a science experiment, he tried to bring up werewolves she would freak out. Eventually, she stopped wanting him to come over and soon enough she stopped replying to his text messages.

It was one night that his wolf was following her that a strange lady approached her and gave her something. He could sense something was off as she looked around frantically and put something in her pocket.

He followed her home and stayed there until she switched off her light which was quicker than she normally would. He was so busy watching her that he didn’t notice the dark figure standing behind him. When he turned around to head for home, he saw a hooded figure with one glowing eye. Before he could say anything, the figure swung something at him and when he woke up, he was halfway to Antarctica on a supply ship. It took him 3 months to get home and his life was a mess. Marina had gone off to Varsity and he had no way of finding out where she was before he didn’t find a new job and a place to stay. He had lost everything in the 3 months since he was gone. He eventually found Marina a few years later studying the same Volcano he was.

And now again he was about to lose her, this time to a naked monster of a man and he will not allow that to happen.

He found a big enough branch that would knock this intruder out and tried to keep out of sight until the last second. That wasn’t hard as both their attention was stuck on each other. As soon as Marina saw him, he could see the confusion and then horror in her eyes. As soon as she realized what he was about to do she screamed and that just fueled his anger. The man turned around at the perfect time and the branch hit him in the side of this head, knocking him out cold, leaving blood running out his mouth and the big gash on the side of his face. “That will teach you to put a claim on what is mine!!!!!” he shouted but when he looked up the smile on his face was wiped off as he saw raw anger in Marina’s face, but now she had green eyes. Before he could react, she fell to her knees and cradled the stranger's head on her lap bloodying her clothes.

He watched as tears ran down her cheeks and onto the man’s face. He heard his wolf growl but was too late and shifted, ready to kill the bastard now laying on Marina’s lap. As he was stalking towards them, trying to look for a way so he doesn’t hurt Marina the unexpected happened. Those two green eyes that weren’t Marina’s look straight at him and before she took the man’s head and placed it softly on the ground. She then walked straight to Mike and he could feel the anger radiating from her. He didn’t care how angry Marina was, he was going to kill that man. If he can’t have Marina, no one can. He tried to go around her, but Marina stood her ground. When the man moaned Marina looked back and that was his opportunity to strike. When he tried to jump, Marina screamed and her scream turned into a growl. She had shifted into the most beautiful wolf he had ever seen. She lunged for Mike, but Mike wasn’t fast enough. His legs failing him as he never had to act quickly on his deformed legs before.

Marina kept on biting into Mike and it soon became apparent that he was in deep trouble. He was losing a lot of blood, but Marina was weakening fast and he saw his chance of escape. Marina fell to the ground with an earth-shattering howl and Mike tried to make a ran for it but when he tried to crawl away he was met by the same log he used on the stranger. He could feel him shift back and saw a whole pack of wolves trying to attack the hooded figure that was standing in front of him. He tried to look towards Marina but instead, he saw the branch come towards him again.
