Se connecterLoretta's POV
When I got back to the villa, I didn't see the two Omega maids who were always slacking off.
I walked straight into my bedroom, unzipped my suitcase, and started packing my stuff.
Having lived here for over six months, there was no way I could move everything out in one go.
I decided to just take my essentials and everyday clothes for now.
Once Zane and I officially severed our mating bond, I'd come back to grab the rest of my things all at once.
Just as I zipped up the suitcase and tried to haul it out, Susie suddenly showed up at the doorway.
Seeing the suitcase in my hand, she snapped with irritation, "What the hell are you doing? Alpha Zane is coming back tonight. Shouldn't you be in the kitchen making dinner?"
My heart lurched at the news.
He must be coming back to put me in my place after I'd gotten into that fight with Josephine at the office.
Great. I didn't want to drag this out any longer anyway. I'd just clear the air with him tonight.
I stopped in my tracks and gave Susie an icy glare.
"Who's the servant here—you or me? How about I call Margaret right now and tell her you can't wait to take my place as Luna?"
"Y-you bitch..." Susie's face twisted with rage.
She clearly couldn't believe the usually timid, submissive me would dare talk down to her like this.
"You're completely out of your mind! You crazy skank!" she huffed in a fit of rage, turning on her high heels and storming off.
I slammed the bedroom door shut with everything I had.
Outside, Susie was already on the phone, complaining to whoever would listen.
I leaned against the cold wooden door, completely drained, tilting my head back as I gasped for air.
All the frustration and helplessness I'd been bottling up for so long came crashing over me like a tidal wave. Feeling the pain, my wolf whimpered inside me. Tears finally spilled over, running unchecked down my pale cheeks.
Later that evening, I lay on my side in bed with one hand resting over my lower belly. Feeling the subtle movements of my pup, I gradually calmed down.
But Luca's words kept replaying in my head. Zane really hated this child growing inside me.
Even if Margaret cared about her, how much love or respect would she actually get once Pandora became Zane's Luna and gave him an heir?
I couldn't bear to think further.
I couldn't leave my pup behind to face a pack that didn't want her.
I'd made up my mind—I was taking her with me.
Just then, a hurried knock sounded at the door.
I snapped back to reality, slowly got off the bed, and opened the door, only to be met with Susie's perpetually snarky face.
"Alpha Zane wants to see you," she said.
When I reached the living room, I saw him sitting on the sofa, his face grim.
My chest tightened instantly. Even though I'd mentally prepared myself, the moment I saw his expression and felt that crushing, suffocating Alpha aura radiating from him, instinctive fear still rose inside me, and my wolf couldn't help trembling.
My steps stiffened, and I didn't even dare look him in the eye.
After what felt like forever, I stopped in front of him.
I expected him to start yelling at me. Instead, his voice rang out, colder than ever. "Finish these, then you can go to bed."
With that, he stood up and strode toward the dining room without sparing me another glance.
I stared at the thick stack of files on the coffee table—he clearly had no intention of letting me sleep tonight.
He never saw me as the mother of his child. Worse, he wasn't even willing to give me the basic treatment of a regular employee.
Did he really hate me this much?
I clenched my fists so tight my nails dug deep into my palms. Turning around, I yelled, "I already handed in my resignation! I'm done!"
Zane stopped in his tracks.
He slowly turned around, looking daggers at me.
I summoned every ounce of courage I had. My wolf was shivering under his overwhelming aura, but I still forced my back to stay straight.
"I don't like repeating myself," he said.
Then he turned to Susie beside him and ordered flatly, "Go lock her bedroom door."
The moment Susie heard that, a smug smile spread across her nasty face.
"Right away!" she replied, then hurried toward my bedroom.
I stood there, frozen in place. Endless despair swallowed me whole like a rushing tide, making it almost impossible to breathe.
A dull, tearing pain shot through our mating bond once again, and tears slipped down my face uncontrollably.
He didn't care about how I felt at all.
Staring at his cold, indifferent back, I felt like the biggest joke in the world.
Suddenly, a wave of rage surged through me.
I grabbed the thick stack of files off the coffee table and shoved them straight into the trash can without a second thought.
Then, holding my swollen belly with one hand, I turned on my heel and marched straight for the front door.
Zane froze again. The air around him turned to ice, his face clouding over.

Third Person's POVAfter lunch, Zane and the others headed to the golf course.Ezra sat in a chair in the lounge area, staring down at a delicate pocket watch resting in his palm.Inside the cover was an old photo of a girl who looked around ten.She was standing by the beach in a woven straw hat, holding a seashell and smiling brightly."Why are you looking at your sister's photo again?" Zane's steady voice came from beside him.Ezra casually closed the pocket watch and slipped it into his inner suit pocket. "Nothing," he replied calmly.Ever since he saw that pregnant Omega being bullied by Luca, a strange, indescribable feeling had been stirring inside him.Zane fixed his gaze on Ezra. The two of them had met while studying abroad and later founded a company together.Having known him for years, Zane had always known Ezra had a younger sister, and the fact that Ezra carried her photo around all this time showed just how deeply he missed her.Back then, after his mom rejected his da
Loretta's POVIt was Zane.Back when he demoted me, the only reason I still forced myself to come to work despite everyone laughing at me was just to catch a glimpse of him around the office. But over the past few months, I’d barely seen him. Even when our paths crossed by chance, all I ever got from him was indifference.I never expected to run into him today. He had just stepped out of his car. His perfectly tailored dark suit accentuated his broad shoulders and trim waist, making him impossible to miss. His sharply defined, handsome face always radiated a fierce, commanding aura. And yet, such a cold, ruthless Alpha gave all of his tenderness and devotion to another she-wolf.A bitter ache suddenly stabbed through my chest.I quickly lowered my eyes and obediently stepped aside to clear his path. "Alpha Zane," I greeted. As usual, Zane treated me like I wasn't even there.Taking long strides, he swept right past me without bothering to throw a single glance my way.It wasn't until
Third Person's POVMeanwhile, at Zephyr Hills. The neighborhood had been around for over two decades, and its infrastructure had long since grown outdated.A Bentley slowly pulled up in front of Villa No. 12—the very place the Silver Moon Pack had sold. The car window lowered slowly, revealing a handsome, flawless profile.Ezra Garcia looked toward the brightly lit villa. The warm yellow streetlights reflected in his eyes, but they couldn't hide the complicated emotions and loneliness buried within them.He looked away and lit a cigarette.Just then, his phone started vibrating. It was his half-sister, Pandora Winteringham. He picked it up and spoke in a gentle voice, "What's up, Pandora?"Pandora's coquettish voice came through the phone. "When are you getting here? I'm starving, and Zane won't let me eat."A low, affectionate voice cut in from the background. "You told me to remind you to keep your diet in check, and now you're blaming me for it?"Pandora huffed."If you're hungry,
Loretta's POVJust as I was lost in thought, there was a knock on my bedroom door."Loretta, Huddy and Levi are back," Grace called from outside.I pulled myself out of my heavy thoughts, set the photo album aside, and got up to open the door. The moment I saw the two people who had just walked in, warmth flooded my heart. "Dad, Huddy!" I called out happily.Hudson and Dad both turned to look at me."I brought you a gift. Come see if you like it!" Hudson said with a grin as he set a shopping bag down on the coffee table.I hurried over, thrilled. "What is it?"He pulled out an exquisite designer jewelry box and handed it to me. "Open it up."I opened the box. Inside was a beautifully crafted gold bracelet. "Thanks. It's gorgeous," I said."I'm glad you like it." Hudson reached over and affectionately ruffled my hair.Besides the bracelet for me, he had also brought gifts for Grace and Dad.All the heaviness I'd been carrying seemed to disappear in an instant. Loretta's POVI forced down the wave of emotions threatening to overwhelm me and turned to leave. The moment I stepped out of the office, I heard the girl's gentle voice comforting him. It didn't take long for him to calm down.I lifted my head, refusing to let the tears in my eyes fall.I retreated to a deserted corner by the stairs and gripped the railing tightly with one hand. The unbearable pain from the mate bond finally broke through the walls I had built around my emotions. My tears fell uncontrollably.Maybe we weren't true mates, but I had loved him for eight years. We had sworn our vows as mates before the Moon Goddess's altar.Giving him up now felt like tearing out a piece of my own flesh. But it was fine. Everything would get better. I would forget him completely.I didn't know how much time had passed. When I finally calmed down, I went upstairs toward my desk and ran into the girl coming down the hall. She was beautiful from head to toe, the kind of girl who had clearly
