"Ms. Zendaya Lyons, breakfast is ready. You should eat it while it's hot."

The housekeeper, Lily Hall, smiled gently as she did every day, bringing my favorite breakfast to the table just like always.

She called me to eat in her usual soft voice, but my whole body suddenly tensed.

Lily just turned 20 this year, with a pretty face and a gentle demeanor.

After Jayden Sanders and I got married, we were both busy with work and often came home late at night. So, we hired a housekeeper through an agency to cook our meals and keep the house in order.

I wanted to hire an older woman, but Lily begged us through tears, saying she came from a poor rural town. She said that if she could not find work, her father would marry her off to a mentally challenged man in her village.

She begged us for a chance, saying she would take less pay and was willing to learn.

Jayden and I felt sorry for her. Since we needed someone anyway, we decided to hire her.

Lily was hardworking and easygoing, with that simple, honest quality you found in country folks. In over a year of working for us, she never made a single mistake.

I found it impossible to connect her with the bloated corpse I had seen pulled from the river in my past life.

Just a short while ago, Lily excitedly told me she was pregnant with her boyfriend's baby and would be quitting soon to focus on the pregnancy.

"Ms. Lyons, what are you thinking about? Is something wrong with breakfast? I can make you something else."

As she spoke, Lily reached to take my plate away. I shook my head, forcing myself to calm down.

"It's fine. I was just thinking about work. Breakfast is as delicious as always."

Lily let out a relieved breath and turned back to wipe down the living room table. I chewed the toast in my mouth, but it tasted like nothing.

I could not help but wonder where exactly things went wrong.

Just then, Jayden walked out of the bedroom. Lily immediately set down her cleaning cloth and greeted him.

Jayden barely glanced at her and just responded with a faint hum. He walked over to me, took the half-eaten dry toast from my hand, and thoughtfully spread some blueberry jam on it.

He said, "Honey, what are you thinking about? You even forgot to put jam on your toast."

If it were not for my past life, where he furiously called me a monster in front of everyone, I might have actually been fooled by his Mr. Nice Guy act.

In my previous life, everyone believed I drove Lily to her death. I pinned all my hopes on Jayden since he knew exactly how I treated Lily every day.

But instead, he became the final nail in my coffin.

He held Lily's lifeless body, his eyes red as he screamed accusations at me. "You bully me and beat me up every day, but fine, I'm your husband, I can take it no matter what! But Lily was innocent! She worked her heart out for us, and now you've driven her to jump off a bridge! She was carrying a baby!"

Jayden roared himself hoarse, like a man possessed. He even showed everyone the purple and blue bruises covering his body, proving to them all that I was a violent monster.

I could not defend myself and just sat there numbly while people pointed and whispered around me.

"How could this woman be so heartless? She even beats her own husband."

Another chimed in, "I know her. We live in the same neighborhood. Their housekeeper did great work for low pay, but I had no idea she was being abused like that at home."

"Exactly, and she was pregnant too. That's two lives gone. This is just evil."

The insults stabbed into me like knives, and I had no way to fight back.

Later, the police took me away.

In court, there was the suicide note, the video, and witness testimony. Every piece of evidence was damning.

I became the "cruel employer" and "abusive monster" that everyone online wanted destroyed. Even on the short drive from the courthouse to prison, countless "concerned citizens" threw rotten eggs at my head.

My parents were exposed as the parents of a vicious monster. They spent their entire lives as teacher, only to be publicly shamed for failing to raise me properly.

They both died of heart attacks at home, and their bodies were only found when the smell became unbearable.

But even as I was bullied to death in prison, I could not understand why Lily suddenly killed herself.

Why was Jayden's body covered in bruises?

In this second life, I was determined to find out what really happened.

Emma explained, "My name is Emma Hall. The woman on the ground is my sister, Lily, Troye's childhood sweetheart. We lived in a remote mountain village where girls were considered worthless."Our family was extremely poor. When our parents found out they were having twins, they hoped one of us would be a boy, but I turned out to be a girl. My father was furious. I grew up without a birth certificate. Only the villagers knew our family had two daughters, Lily and Emma."She added, "When Lily and I grew up, my father decided to marry one of us off to the mayor's son. The mayor's family was wealthy, so Lily fought to be the one who married him. I had no choice but to find work in the city, but without my own identity papers, I had to use Lily's name and be called Lily Halls."At this revelation, everyone suddenly understood.Several older women in the crowd started crying. They could not believe that in this day and age, there were still people so desperate that they would sell their c

"They got her out! They got her out! They pulled Lily's body from the water!"In the distance, the search and rescue team's voices carried over. Everyone rushed over to look, Jayden included.I strolled over leisurely. The rescue team laid the body on the riverbank, and a foul stench filled the air.I covered my nose and stepped forward to examine it.It was a waterlogged corpse, bloated and pale white. The body swelled up from being in the water. The face was scraped by rocks at the bottom of the river, leaving it unrecognizable. Only the outline vaguely suggested this was Lily's body."It's Lily! It's Lily! Look at the calluses on her hands, those are from years of manual labor!"A flash of disgust crossed Jayden's eyes, but he still threw himself beside the corpse and began sobbing."Lily, this is all my fault. You suffered so much. Don't worry, I'll make sure that monster is brought to justice and avenge you and your unborn child."By now, the police arrived. Just as the h

The people around us looked confused, still trying to figure out who Troye was. However, Jayden's face went pale with shock as he stared at me. His voice trembled as he stammered, "H-How do you know the name, Troye Dickson? Did you investigate me? Zendaya, we've been married for five years, and you had someone investigate me?"I looked down at him from where I stood, feeling nothing but pity and amusement."Oh, so now you remember we've been married for five years. We've shared a bed for five years, but you didn't even bother to ask what really happened before accusing me without a second thought. Besides, finding out about a name change is easy. Anyone can look that up."I continued, "Jayden Sanders, formerly known as Troye Dickson, from Pineridge Town, changed your name after college entrance exams. Investigating you actually took quite a bit of effort. The internet wasn't as advanced back then, and I have no idea what you did to erase the name Troye from your records. But you kn

Jayden shouted, "What?! How could Lily commit suicide? Wasn't she pregnant? It must be you! You drove Lily to her death! You think winning 80 million dollars gives you the right to treat people's lives like trash? Zendaya, you're heartless. Aren't you afraid Lily' will come back to haunt you?"Jayden's voice dripped with accusation. As my husband, he did not bother asking how I was doing first. Instead, without knowing any of the facts, he immediately blamed everything on me.He already decided I was a murderer.Jayden's voice was loud enough for everyone around us to hear. After they learned Lily was pregnant, the crowd became furious and rushed toward me."You're a woman too! If you didn't want Lily working for you anymore, just say so. Why drive her to death?""Even your own husband's saying it, what else do you have to argue?""80 million? You think winning 80 million means you're above the law?"I calmly put my phone on speaker. "If you want to see your old flame one last t

The place where Lily jumped was the river behind our apartment complex. It was where the main waterway met the ocean, with rapids so fierce that anyone who fell in was guaranteed to die. Moreover, the riverbed was full of jagged rocks.Between the current and the stones, anyone going in would be unrecognizable.I had not even reached the river when Mom called. "Zendaya, what on earth is going on? The internet is blowing up right now. Everyone's saying Lily killed herself and that you drove her to it. I know you're not like that; there must be some misunderstanding. Your father and I can drive over right now to back you up!"Hearing Mom's voice, my nose tingled, and tears rolled down my cheeks. In my past life, no one believed me.Not even my husband of five years, the man who slept beside me every night, turned on me at the critical moment.During that time, even random strangers would kick me while I was down.Only my parents believed in me. They ignored my pleas and insisted on

I followed Lily to the place she shared with her boyfriend, Ray Murphy. It was a rundown apartment in the sketchy part of town, the building falling apart, and the street outside was not even properly paved. However, none of that seemed to affect Lily and Ray's relationship one bit.The walls were paper-thin, and I could hear every word as I pressed my ear against the side of the building."Lily, your parents treat you so badly. Are you really going back there? You're pregnant with our baby, and I'm worried about you. This is our first child."Ray's face was full of concern.Lily's face glowed with happiness as she eagerly pulled Ray closer. "Don't worry, Ray. I'm not just going back to take care of Mom, I need to get my birth certificate so we can get married."She added, "Remember when we went to Mercy Hospital for the checkup? The doctor said the baby was perfectly healthy, and that's the best hospital in the whole city, so stop worrying!"I listened from outside, catching a
