Petty Argument

"The temporary class is scheduled for the next day. I have to be early."

Zannie was still relaxed and looked around her room. She was loaded with tasks, her eyes suddenly fixed on a brown envelope that Jacob had given her.

"Of course. It's another one."

She looked at the paper contained in the envelope.

'Evaluation sheet of Mr. Howard Fontabella, CEO of SLI.'

She raised an eyebrow at the read header of the evaluation sheet. "He's not lying. In fairness."

She read other written guidelines for evaluation. There are some things that Howard should be asked to do when his attitude is tested in another field as an ordinary employee.

Zannie's brain suddenly twitched. Of course, he was annoyed with Howard but still wants to apologize to him. She suddenly let go of the paper when she heard a crash due to the loud opening of the door to her room.

"I still need to rest, that’s the doctor’s advice.”

It was as if her mood was colliding with the voice she heard. This is an extremely vexing issue.

"Are you an idiot? Didn't your parents educate you not to come in just yet when you enter a room that isn't yours?" She narrowed her brows. Howard was already resting on the pallet when she noticed him, and he didn't even ask her permission.

"I'm on my vacation. I need to rest. By the way, give me a tour of the beautiful scenery in this place."

Howard talked with his eyes closed. The young man's attitude irritated Zannie even more. Too pushy, she'd think, and she'd be satisfied if she caressed Howard's neck till he choked and gasped for air.

"Stupid! Who said you came here for a vacation? If I were you, I wouldn't just travel anywhere without understanding why; it's a trend to use your head," Zannie sarcastically explained.

Howard turned around and stared at Zannie. "You're really challenging me, you're a woman, aren't you? You'll be as hot-tempered as if you could fight me."

Zannie hissed. She repeatedly rolled her eyes. She overcame the malignant one when she closed her eyes because of annoyance. No doubt why Howard was deported to Trias by his own father, because he was so arrogant.

"Mr. Howard, don't tell me that. You're not in your company to light a fire. And you're no longer the CEO. I'm not next to you. You're next to me. You got it?" She took the collar of the polo shirt Howard was wearing. She looked intently into the young man's eyes as if she was trying to frighten him.

Howard averted his eyes. He took out Zannie's hand that was holding his collar. "Don’t be as domineering as me.”

"I can do whatever I want except for being stupid like you," Zannie angrily replied.

Their discussion stopped for a moment when they heard footsteps entering the room.

“Are you there, Mr. Howard?"

Zannie was surprised because she saw Jacob standing from the door. Perhaps he had already heard of her quarrel with Howard

"Yes. Didn't you say it's okay for me to rest here first? Isn't it, Jacob?" Howie asked teasingly.

Jacob just nodded before turning to Zannie. "Ah ... Zannie, it's okay with you, isn't it? Because, he needs to rest because of the incident that happened that you didn't mean to. I'm sorry, I didn't tell you right away."

Zannie smiled awkwardly. She loves Jacob but she doesn't like the way he takes to be considerate of Howard. She wanted to hit him for that.

‘I thought the lesson would be taught to Howard. Why is Jacob so kind to him?’ her mind thought.

"Ah. It's okay. All right, it's really okay. Where can I sleep? Is there a mosquito net there?"

While she flaunts her fake smile, she also gritted her teeth. To avoid misunderstanding with the man she adores, she was obliged to get along with Howard. It was like god’s punishment for her.

‘If only I didn't feel something for you, Jacob. Maybe I really choked you with a tie.’

"There's a vacant room on the other side of the barracks. Howard and you should switch. I mean Mr. Howard," Jacob explained as Howard sighed in a corner. That's Howard's laughing right now.

"I don't want to. I wish Jacob was in this room instead of Howard!"

Both men were stunned. Zannie paused for a moment. What did she just say?

It was like a broken plaque that repeated in Zannie's brain what she said she never thought she could say. No matter when, her mouth doesn't cooperate with her actions every time Jacob is around.

"What are you even thinking, Zannie? I don't have a room here because I'm sleeping in camp. You're really funny." Jacob just laughed and messed up Zannie's hair again. It was a bit awkward for him. He knew very well that Zannie was once again feeling his secret look at him.

Howard frowned and glanced at Jacob. Of course, he's a man and he knows the behavior of obvious women who try to hit on men they wanted to date, just like Zannie.

"Of course. I’m only joking. I'll just be there in the vacant room on the other side."

Zannie still pretended to be okay and didn't realize she wanted to swallow the ground out of embarrassment.

"All right. I think Mr. Howard is talking to you, go ahead." Jacob smiled before disappearing from the sight of the two as he left the room.

"You like him?"

Zannie glared at Howard when he asked her unexpectedly.

"Please? I don't like him. I can't imagine myself falling in love with a man." She leaned over and pocketed her palms in the pocket of her pants.

"Poor you, it looks like he doesn't like you." Howard even managed to laugh as Zannie's eyes narrowed and she seemed to be killing him with a deadly stare.

"Mr. Howard. I'll assure you, you'll suffer here!" Zannie threatened him before she left and slammed the door shut.
