Temporary Teacher

Zannie is holding some textbooks that she will use to teach children affected by the war in Trias. He took a deep breath then turned to Ms. Aida, a teacher who assists in her teaching. He could not have been assigned to do this but there is a real shortage of teachers in the area because most have left Trias to avoid the war, while others have been assisted in other relief operations in other evacuation centers. The class will be held in the small space behind the covered court that served as an evacuation center.

"It looks like a classroom somehow, doesn't it?" Zannie asked Ms. Aida. She just smiled at her because the visual aids she was watching to teach a history subject grabbed her attention.

"Thank you Ms. Zannie, it's great that you made your visual aids. It's like the work of a legitimate teacher. The setup looks like a classroom somehow." Her ears clapped with the praise of Ms. Aida.

"All right, I'll leave you first Zannie. There's a new donation coming to the other center, then there's also a medical mission because a lot of people are already sick," the lady explained to Zannie.

"Okay. I hope the kids are kind and they won't complain about my teaching." Zannie glanced at the twenty children in the 8-10 age range.

"That's not it. I know you can do it. Are you still?" Ms. Aida smiled and laughed before she left.

She raised a smile on the children staring at her.

"Good morning to all of you!"

"Good morning, teacher," the children greeted back like withered vegetables because of their voices. She can see the agony of them, she feels that the children have no interest in learning because of what happened in their area. Actually, it was also a month ago when the rebels and soldiers clashed. The encounter has not been repeated but everyone knows that they should still be careful.

"I will teach you the history of the Philippines. Our topic is how our country was discovered," she said when opening the page of the textbook he was holding.

"Just look at the visual aids I have prepared," she added. But somehow, she became nervous in front of her little students.

She doesn’t take away the smiles while looking at the kids. She also cleared her throat before she started to speak.

"In 1519, Ferdinand Magellan began sailing to carry out his first expedition around the world."

She paused for a while, noticing that the children did not react to her teaching.

Suddenly she scratched her head. She also thought that the teachers would do it easily, the type who would just face and present visual aids and then write on the blackboard. She also had to get the students' attention. This is not new to her, before during her high school and college days,  she also experienced reporting but that was also the time she got embarrassed.

"What is an expedition?"

He was stunned when one of the little students asked.

"Expedition?"

Honestly, she can't remember what that word means but her idea, it's something that has to do with adventure. She's weak in history and she’s also not a bookworm becauses he’s more of a trip to do the things her body will enable than her brain. It had been a few minutes, and she still hadn’t answered the question.

"Expedition, the call to the long voyage of a group of people whose purpose was to expand their territory. Magellan had five ships while conducting their expedition. It was named Victoria, Natividad, San Antonio, Santiago and Concepcion."

Everyone turned to the source of the voice. That voice was still familiar so he frowned and lost her mood.

‘What is Howie doing here?’

"Wow, that's great. Are those ships like the Titanic?" the boy asked in amazement at Howard's answer.

"No," Howard replied briefly to the child. Without saying a word he took the textbook from Zannie. The sourness on his face did not escape her eyes because of what he had done.

"Here's the answer, what's hard to explain? Spoon feeding?" he whispered to Zannie who was obviously annoyed at him.

"Children, how is she teaching you? Is it okay for you to let me teach this lesson? I think I can answer your questions better."

Zannie's cheek was already warming.

‘Please, I will be super saiyan like Goku because of the bragging of the young man Howard who shows unwanted intelligence to the children.’

She tried to act unaffected by the young man's arrogance. She managed to wear a permanent smile even in her brain, once again playing the thought that she should end Howie's life as soon as possible.

"It's okay. Our teachers are handsome and beautiful, oh, they're like a love team."

Zannie was even more frustrated by the boy's whipping.

Howard even smiled when he turned it around. "Think about it, there's something more beautiful about you." Still whispering it told him.

"Okay. In that case, let's continue the lesson."

Zannie was about to leave but Howard's hands hit her arm. "You should just be here, watch me so you can get a strategy for me."

Her blood boiled even more at Howie's bragging.

She leaned over and sat down to one side. In the distance, she saw Ms. Aida who had probably watched them before. No choice, she must not leave where she is now.

"Ferdinand Magellan was a portuguese working in Spain. March 16, 1521 was the exact date his expedition reached the island of Samar in Cebu."

He noticed the children's amazement at the way Howard spoke. That is why he held a high position in SLI, not only because he is the son of the owner but also because of his good communication skills and intelligence. It also doesn’t look at the textbook while explaining, it’s like a human encyclopedia.

She realized that she was already impressed with this man and that it could not happen. She couldn't admire it because Howie's conceitedness stuck in her brain more.

She continued to listen to his way of teaching. Howard's voice is similar to the voice of the DJ she listens to on the radio. It is really fascinating, which is why the children's attention is already focused and interested in the lesson.
