Dylan's POV

After the meeting with the council was over, I left the hall, turning a deaf ear to the call of my mother because I wasn't interested in speaking to anyone. Especially not about brides.

“Dylan. I'm still speaking to you" my mother shouted after getting into my study.

“Mom, please I've had enough of this topic. Israel has gone to take care of it. Why won't you let me be?" I asked, annoyed by her actions.

“Son, I want the best for you. I don't want to lose you too, not like I lost him

  • A BREEDER FOR THE CURSED ALPHA    CHAPTER 25: Uncertainty

Claire's POVI had told Elaine everything that had happened between Beta Israel and me, but all she could do was laugh so hard that she almost spilled her coffee.“Wait, so you mean Israel is your mate?” she asked.“Didn't you just hear everything I said?” I scoffed, annoyed that she was laughing at my pain.“I'm sorry, girl. But you guys should be mature and talk about it. It's certainly not going to get better if both of you keep tossing each other away. If you really want to be with him, then you have to fight for it.”“How would I fight for it when I know he doesn't want a mate?” I asked. My wolf, Licia, winced.Elaine set her coffee down and took my hands in hers.“The Claire I know would never settle for defeat. Moreover, you haven't rejected him, have you?” she asked.I shook my head and wiped away the tear that was welling up in my eye.“Should I speak to him? Wouldn't I look cheap?”“You're not begging him to choose you, Claire. Just ask him questions and try to understand if

  • A BREEDER FOR THE CURSED ALPHA    CHAPTER 24: Awakening

Elaine's POVI walked out of the hospital, thinking about my meeting with Aelia. After being bullied, humiliated, and maltreated all my life, I had finally discovered something that could change everything I knew about myself.I had a wolf.A real, living wolf inside me.Honestly, I wasn't sure how I was supposed to feel about that. Excited? Annoyed? Or scared out of my mind?A part of me wanted to celebrate because, for the first time in my life, I felt like there was something special about me. Something that made me different from the girl everyone had always looked down on.But another part of me was terrified.Bloodline.Who exactly was chasing me?And who was my mate?Aelia hadn't answered any of my questions. Instead, she kept saying that time would tell.I sighed in frustration before continuing to walk.“Elly!” Claire's voice came from behind me.I turned and rushed into her arms for a hug.“Claire, I missed you,” I said, tightening my arms around her waist. She scoffed and p

  • A BREEDER FOR THE CURSED ALPHA    CHAPTER 23: Elara

Elaine's POV I lay on the bed staring at the lights, while listening to Dr. Evans “Luna, I need you to count from ten backwards. Can you do that?” He asked.“Sure I can.” “Ten…” I felt a little sting on my arm“Nine…” the lights fluttered beneath my eyelids“Keep going,” Dr. Evans said.“Eight…” I wasn't in the hospital anymore, neither was I on the stretcher. I was in the forest. White–blue lights. The sun shone but couldn't be seen, like we were in the dead of winter. The trees were covered in snow, but the flowers were alive — strange, beautiful flowers in colours I didn't have names for. Not green, yellow-green. Not blue, blue-green. And others that I couldn't name. The kinds that shouldn't survive in the snow. “Elara,”I heard a voice, that voice… that voice sounded like mine.I turned, “who are you?” I asked. “Show your face.”A lady, same height, same facial features, same look, a second me stepped out from the bright light. Everything was identical.Except her eyes. They

  • A BREEDER FOR THE CURSED ALPHA    CHAPTER 22: Mooncrest

Dylan's POV She was humming. Elaine. Humming. The girl who barely spoke two words in the car. She bowed to me this morning. Walked three steps ahead of me like she owned the damn pack house. It should have annoyed me but it didn't. It unnerved me. "How long has she been like this?" I asked Melissa under my breath as Elaine went in with Dr. Evans to change. Melissa tried to hide her smile but failed. "Since she walked in, Alpha. She's light today." Light. After ten days of injections that had left a map of dots on her stomach. I pretended not to notice when she winced before getting into the car. Pretended not to notice how she held the doorframe for half a second to steady herself. Yet she was light. And it did something to my chest that I didn't like. The door opened, We are ready, Alpha. The retrieval will take about twenty minutes. You can wait here, or... "Alpha, I found something." Kyle's voice came in through the mind-link. "Okay, our usual meeting place." I said clo

  • A BREEDER FOR THE CURSED ALPHA    CHAPTER 21: Ten days later–The last pinch

Elaine's POV The days ticked by. It was painful during the first three days. My belly was sore and bruised, little dots stained my skin. I cried on the second morning and almost called Dr. Evans to say I couldn't do it. But I did. By the fourth day, I got used to it. Pinch, breathe, push, doneI was on the final dosage. The last injection. If I was told that I would survive this, I wouldn't have believed, but here I am.I chuckled slightly, looking at the last syringe on my vanity.Dylan had checked in twice throughout the ten days. I wasn't expecting anything, but a part of me felt disappointed. I felt he would be around every day, but that would have been only in my dreams."Miss," Stephanie called out, knocking lightly on the bathroom door. "Are you ready? The car is here to take you to the hospital."Yes Steph, I'm all set," I said. I picked up the last syringe. My hand wasn't shaking this time. One last pinch. It was all done. I stared at my reflection in the mirror for a

  • A BREEDER FOR THE CURSED ALPHA    CHAPTER 20: Nine more mornings

Elaine's POV Dr. Evans cleared his throat. "Luna?" I couldn't take my eyes off it. The clear liquid. The thin, sharp point. "I'm..... I'm scared of needles," I whispered. It sounded stupid, childish."That's very normal," he said quickly, kinder now. "Melissa?" Melissa, the woman with the heart-warming smile, knelt a little so she was at my eye level. "It will be quick Luna. You won't even need to look. Just a pinch in your belly. Five seconds. And then you can go home."Home. To a house where the Alpha left me alone in a doctor's office to face this.I swallowed. My hands were shaking so badly."Can....can you do it?" I asked Dr. Evans. My voice in a whisper. "I can't do it myself." "Of course," he said. "But tomorrow and after that, you'll have to learn. Or Alpha can...."No," I cut him. "He can't."He didn't ask why. He just picked up the syringe."Look at me, Luna. Not at the tray. Look at me."I raised my head up and stared at his eyes. They weren't hostile or judging. They
