EPISODE ONE..

SOMEWHERE IN THE SOUTHERN KINGDOM Of ASSYRIA.

"We have to go back to the palace, Young miss, else I'm gonna get in trouble for helping you leave the palace." Karen the Handmaiden of the princess couldn't help to worry about the consequences of her actions..

Earlier on the princess had overheard the king's conversation with his subjects about forming a marriage alliance with the wolves to put an end to the never ending war between the human race and the wolves..

Of course the princess knew what was her fate to save the kingdom but she couldn't help but feel anxious..

She hasn't seen a wolf before but she'd heard stories from her mom of how vicious and hideous they look..

The thought of being a feast for the wolves scared the shit outta her she had to run outta the palace to clear her head..

"I don't wanna get married, Karen." She held onto her handmaiden and her eyes had become teary..

She was scared to wits and had been having bad thoughts about everything..

She always dreamed of getting married to her knight in shining armor like in those fairytale weddings in the books she reads..

"I'm sorry your Highness but there's nothing we can do, I believe you're gonna be fine." Karen didn't know how to console the princess because there was no way out of it.

And is the only way of saving the southern kingdom..

"I'm scared." She finally let the tears fall freely and this broke the heart of her Handmaiden..

"I know you're but your Highness your sacrifice is gonna save the entire southern kingdom. I'm sure the King has thought of a way out."Karen stroked her hair gently as she spoke..

"What if we run away?" She spoke while fidgeting with her fingers.

She only does that when she's anxious..

"I'm afraid we can't do that, your Highness." Karen shook her head and Princess Rosalia hugged her handmaiden tightly and sobbed quietly..

She knew there was no way out but still wanted to try.. she didn't wanna marry a beast but who was she to complain? When her sacrifice could save the entire kingdom.

This was the only solution her father could come up with..

" I don't want to do this Karen, I can't do this." She shook her head in disagreement..

They were currently sitting by the blue lake which was the Princess's safe haven.

She would often sneak outta the palace just to come to the Blue lake.

There's something about the lake that calms the soul..

"We've to return to the palace, Your highness, it's getting dark." Karen reminded her and she wiped away the tears in her eyes and stood up..

"There's no use crying over spilled milk. Let's go back to the palace." Princess Rosalia faked a smile and Karen helped her with her cloak before walking the horse.

She made sure the cloak was covering most of her face so no one would recognize the princess.

Karen also fixed her Cloak and got on top of her own horse after helping the princess get on hers..

Princess Rosalia whipped her horse and applied leg pressure and it began galloping at full speed..

The princess has always been an excellent horseman.

They arrived at the secret passage which led to the royal stable..

Karen helped the princess keep her horse in the stable before hurrying back to the Princess's room.

The moment the princess walked into her chambers she found the queen pacing back and forth in her..

"Mother." She looked at her mom in confusion and took off her cloak.

The Queen heaved a sigh of relief when she saw her youngest daughter and handmaiden walk in..

"Goodness Lia! You got me worried sick." The Queen pulled her daughter close to her and inspected her body properly to be sure she wasn't hurt..

She'd come to fetch her daughter but was nowhere to be found. She became worried but didn't inform the king about it, knowing fully well how stubborn the princess can be..

She was about to alert the guards about the Princess's disappearance when the princess showed up.

"What's wrong, mother?" Princess Lia asked even though she knew what was coming to her.

Karen saw it as her que to leave and she left the The queen and the princess alone..

"Why did you leave the palace without guards? The King would be angry if he finds out you left the palace." Queen Marisa was worried her daughter might have heard everything about the alliance..

She also didn't wanna offer her daughter to the wolves and was still strongly against it..

"Mother, I'm scared." Lia held onto her mother dearly and tried not to break down in front of her mother..

"Shhh It's okay dear, I'm here for you." Queen Marisa pulled her daughter into a hug and patted her back.

The wolves could easily pick a virgin from the kingdom but they insisted on marrying her youngest child..

Queen Marisa pulled away and planted a kiss on her forehead..

"Let's go dear, the king is waiting for you." Queen Marisa stated the real reason she was in her daughter's room...

Lia took a deep breath and forced a smile before walking outta her room with the queen..

The news of the Alliance must have spread around the Kingdom and everyone was feeling sorry for the princess who has become a sacrificial lamb to the wolves..

Lia kept a cold face as she walked towards the throne room with her mother.

Her palm had become sweaty because she was nervous as hell but tried not to show it..

The Queen and the princess stopped off the huge gold doors which led to the throne and took a deep breath.

The Queen gave a curt nod and the doors were pulled open by the guards..

Lia held her breath as she walked elegantly into the throne room where the council, The King were seated waiting for her..

Her brother and sister were also present.

As she walked past the council she could see the look of pity in their eyes as they stared at her and this saddens her even more.

"Your Highness."

"My King." The mother and daughter pair bowed in respect to the King and took their respective seats before the council..

Lia kept a straight face which was contrary to the turmoil she felt inside.

Prince Ander stared at his sister who was acting strong and felt bad for her..

"You-all are summoned here before the King to discuss the new condition presented by the wolves If we want to end the never ending war." The Duke stepped forward and spoke first..

He paused and glanced at the Royal family before directing his gaze at the princess..

"And what are the conditions given?" The King asked even though he knew what it was.

"They want a marriage alliance between the second Prince and Princess Rosalia of Assyria. " The Duke spoke gracefully and everyone began to murmur..

"That's impossible!" Prince Ander raised his voice, gaining the attention of the council..

"And what do you think you're doing?" The King spoke in a deep voice which willed power and authority..

"The princess won't be getting married to that beast!" Prince Ander added and The council began to murmur again..

"Anderson!" The King roared but the prince wasn't ready to give up yet..

"Order!" The Duke half yelled and the throne became quiet again.

The Duke decided to direct his question at the prince.. why would he turn down a solution to the Chaos that have turned the kingdom upside down.

"Why did you say that to your Highness?"

"Those beasts won't be marrying anyone from the Kingdom. They can ask for something else and not something that's never been done in the history of Assyria." Prince Ander reasoned and Lia felt warm spread through her chest..

It felt so good seeing someone defending her Infront of the council..

"The princess getting married to the Second Prince of Valeria would save the Kingdom and the people can finally go on with their lives without fear of being attacked by a wolf. Do you not want that?" The Duke sounded righteous Infront of the council but Lia felt he was indirectly accusing the prince of treason.

"Do you want to start a propaganda? Duke Philip?" Prince Ander raised his voice at the Duke once again and Lia became worried The prince might receive a backlash from trying to save her..

Lia glanced at her brother, silently telling him to stop but he seemed determined to stop such abomination from happening..

"Your Highness, you're being selfish."

" Why don't you offer your only Daughter to a Prince whom we all know is a monster and an abomination, maybe we should do that. " The prince countered and the council felt The prince was taking it too personally..

"That's uncalled for your Highness!" The Duke was beyond Angry but tried not to show it..

The King decided to speak.

"You dare go against me Anderson?"
