EPISODE THREE.

THE SOUTHERN KINGDOM Of ASSYRIA.

"It's time to leave Lia, your groom has arrived ."Queen Marisa announced and Princess Rosalia felt her heart skip a beat..

She chuckled inwardly as she thought of the fact that her father, the King, was in a hurry to toss his only daughter to the wolves just to save his head..

"Are you okay? If you want I -"

"It's okay Brother I can handle it." Lia cut her brother off and smiled softly..

"Let's go, everyone is waiting." Queen Marisa took her daughter's hand and together they walked outta the room with Ander and her handmaiden trailing behind.

The throne was filled with the council and a few people from Valeria.

Everyone was In a hurry to send her off to put an end to the tense atmosphere.

Lia clutched her dress tightly as she was escorted to her groom..

She didn't bother to raise her head because she was afraid of seeing something horrifying..

She lost in her thoughts that she didn't realize when she arrived Infront of the man she was gonna marry..

The marriage ceremony was concluded immediately and everything was put to an end faster than she'd anticipated..

Her nose began to sting but she promised not to cry Infront of the beast and show him weakness..

She snapped out her thoughts when he stretched forth his hand and she slowly raised her head to look at him but was left speechless..

Bloody hell!

Why is he so handsome? No! Wait! Why is he so beautiful?

His jade green eyes stared at her and she was unable to say anything and just take his hand.

Wolves and vampires were hideous creatures and we're feared because of their appearances but the man in front of her doesn't look anything like a wolf..

He was the most handsome man she has ever come across..

"The carriage won't wait forever, My Princess." He reminded her and she nodded absentmindedly and together they left the Southern kingdom of Assyria..

Lia sat down on the far end of the Carriage to avoid angering the man beside her because she was told Wolves transform when angry..

A sigh escaped her lips as the carriage began to move further away from Assyria.

"Rosalia." She almost jumped outta her skin when he called out to her..

Prince Damian looked at her with a displeased expression and sigh..

"Yes? Prince Damian." She wanted to be respectful as ever..

She was told to always be respectful to her husband.

"You can call me Damian when we're alone and I won't have my wife flinching every time I try to touch her." Surprisingly he doesn't sound angry but she saw a trace of helplessness In his eyes..

"I......i'm sorry." She shuttered and looked away immediately..

He nodded and leaned backwards with his eyes closed but she was sure he wasn't sleeping.

She glanced at his face and carefully examined his beautiful face.

His dark silky hair stopped right on his shoulder and his eyelashes are extremely long making her a little jealous.

His lips were parted slightly and his skin is undeniably smooth.

How can a beast be blessed with all the beautiful traits?

"Look what you see?" She flinched for the uptenth time and looked away..

Damian's lips curled upwards in what looked to be a smile.

"I made a promise to your father that no one in Valeria would be able to hurt you and that includes me, your husband, because promises are sacred to us so you have nothing to be scared of." Why does it sound like he was trying to coax her?

"I apologize for my mistake , Pri- Damian." She apologizes while fidgeting with her fingers..

Her heart calmed down a bit after hearing his words which was surprisingly assuring..

"Let's stop by an Inn so you can rest, we still have a long way to go." Damian informed and she nodded..

She has seen the map of the Valerian empire and the western kingdom and it seems they would have to go through the Dark forest, the home of notorious and blood sucking beasts.

She glanced at the man beside her and it seems he doesn't really enjoy riding a carriage as discomfort could clearly be seen on his face..

"How long does it take to reach Valeria?" She suddenly spoke..

"1 day at least when alone and 2days with a carriage." He explained with a calm expression.

She wondered what it would be like for the wolves..

The carriage suddenly stopped in front of an Inn.

"This is the last stop before we enter the dark forest." He informed her and got outta the Carriage first before helping her come out but one thing was strange.

The prince has no guard around him except for the coachman who doesn't like a guard..

Isn't he a prince? How come there was no one guarding him?

She was sure no matter how strong he was he still needed to be guarded.

They walked into the Inn and surprisingly the Inn owners were humans and they didn't look like they were scared of the prince..

They were given a room to stay and some hot porridge. The prince left to give her some space.

Lia was really hungry but didn't have the heart to eat to her satisfaction..

"You should rest Abit and we'll continue our journey tomorrow." Lia turned to the man leaning against the door with his hands folded against his chest..

She nodded and began chewing on her food rather slowly.

"Why can't we continue today?" She asked him curiously..

"Because it's dangerous in the Dark forest when it's Night time." He patiently explained to her and she nodded in understanding.

He left after talking to her and she wondered where he'd gone.

Once she was done eating she went outta her room and found the prince and the Inn owners talking and laughing wholeheartedly.

"Hey you're here, come sit with us." Damian tapped the space beside him and she went over and sat down with them..

She was curious to know what they were talking about.. she didn't seem to understand why the Inn owners were so kind to him even after finding out he's a wolf. Ain't they scared he would eat them?

"Your wife is so beautiful." The Inn owner's wife complimented her earning a smile from her..

"Thank you ma'am." Damian smiled softly and Lia didn't know why but she suddenly felt at peace when he smiled that way..

He was way too handsome and she was having a hard time looking into his eyes..

"You shouldn't travel the woods at night time, your Highness." Suddenly spoke and Lia raised her eyebrow..

"We won't be leaving tonight Mr Grey." He assured the Inn owner and gulped down more mead wine..

He nudged his wife and raised his mug Infront of her but she shook her head immediately.. She doesn't fancy Mead wine.

Mead wine is stronger than it actually looks.

She prefers Honey wine but unfortunately this wasn't the Palace where she could order anything she wanted with the snap of her fingers..

She couldn't help but miss the comfort of her mother's thigh...

Her mother treated her with so much love and care also making sure she gets whatever it is she wanted..

She would often style her hair and she actually preferred the queen's styling than any of her servants..

"Are you okay? Do you feel discomfort anywhere?" She was greeted with the concerned face of her husband but she knows everything is just a facade..

She was so lost in her thoughts that she stopped listening to the Inn owner's conversation with the Prince..

She doesn't recall whatever it is they were talking about.

"I'm a little tired from moving around, I would like to retire to my room, Your highness."

"Ma'am, Sire." She lifted her dress and bow slightly.

Damian could only watch her leave with a helpless expression on his face..

"They're always like that. Give her some time and also be patient. I'm sure she'll learn to trust you." Mr Grey advised the prince and he could only heave a sigh...

"It's fine." Was the only thing he said and drank his wine silently..

Lia on the other hand was given fresh clean clothes by the Inn owner and she bathed herself and changed into the fresh clothes but couldn't sleep no matter how hard she tossed and turned but couldn't get some sleep..

She decided to just close her eyes and think of the place as her room but hell she couldn't..

She was still pretending to be asleep when she felt the side beside her go down..

Her eyes flew open and she looked at the man beside her nervously..

Prince Damian laid beside her without clothes on and the sheets were covering only the lower part of his body so she couldn't see anything..

Heat creeped up her neck as she stared at his perfectly chiseled jawline down to his sturdy chest..

"Like what you see?"
