When I suggested to Brian that we should sleep together, I was thinking of taking a decisive step so that we could have more intimacy, and in that way, I could confess that the child I was expecting was actually his long-awaited heir.

But he didn't seem excited at all about the possibility of sharing the same bed, and that made me quite insecure.
