The night air was cool and quiet. A soft wind moved through the leaves, rustling the trees gently. The moonlight spilled over the garden, casting silver patterns on the stone path. Flowers swayed gently, and the scent of roses filled the air.

Lucille stepped into the garden barefoot. Her long nightdress fluttered around her ankles as she walked slowly down the path.

She held her arms around herself, not from cold, but from thought. The garden had always been peaceful. A place to breathe.

She didn’t think anyone would be there. So when she turned the corner and almost walked into someone, she froze.

It was Edward.

He had his back to her at first, standing beside the low stone wall with a view of the city lights below. He turned slowly when he heard her gasp.

"I… I'm sorry," Lucille said quickly, taking a step back. "I didn't mean to use your garden without permission. I just wanted some air. I'll leave."

She turned, ready to go, but his voice stopped her.

"Wait."

Lucille paused. Slowly

It had been a year since Lucille began her sentence in Edward's house, and for the most part, it had become quieter, calmer. If not for the invisible chain disguised as servitude that tied her to the estate, it could have almost felt like she was free.Edward hadn’t been home for two months now. The house, once echoing with his presence, had become silent in his absence. After his apology that day, the tension between them had losened. He smiled at her, ask after her wellbeing whenever they crossed path. The hate she had for him had become to dispel. And she wouldn't mind if they worked out things again. As for her servitude, Edward had met some persons, and was told the punishment couldn't be averted, instead, he should use the opportunity to strengthen their bond I'd he wished to do so.Lucille had found peace, and freedom. She could leave the house and return anytime she wishes, no one would question her, but what she hadn't agreed to do, was to sleep out of Edward's house. She ha

The scent of cigars and aged whiskey lingered in the high-ceilinged room of the Jones meeting room, where leather chairs surrounded a polished round table.Edward’s father, Williams Jones, a man of stature and quiet authority, leaned forward as the last of the senior wolves, filed into the room. They were not part of the ruling council but wielded influence nonetheless, retired councilmen, advisors, and high-ranking officials from allied provinces."Gentlemen," Williams began, his voice deep and calm. "I appreciate you all coming on short notice. I’ll go straight to the point. It’s time we considered a new face on the Tribunal Council. I nominate my son, Edward."A murmur swept the table. Old Alpha Donald, always the first to speak his mind, raised a brow. "With all due respect, Williams, your nephew Mitch already holds a seat. It’s unlikely they’ll accept another from the same bloodline."Another, thinner man with silver hair, interjected, "True, but Mitch has been, unpredictable la

Without thinking twice, her wolf stood up and ran off, scared.Edward just stood there, stunned, as the omega wolf disappeared into the house. After a moment, he snapped out of it. He didn’t want to stay in the garden anymore. Slowly, he walked back inside, went to his room, and shifted into his human form.He didn’t bother putting on clothes. He sat down on the bed, his eyes staring off as his thoughts went back to the garden. That silver wolf, she was just as beautiful as the first time he saw her through her own eyes.He wondered how much prettier she would look under the sunlight, with the sun shining on her silver fur. It would be an amazing sight. Her wolf didn’t look like an omega’s at all. She looked too graceful, more beautiful than many female Alpha wolves. He thought about Mabel’s wolf, with its dark brown fur, and compared the two in his head. Even though Mabel was higher ranked, her wolf couldn’t match Lucille’s.Was he really comparing them again? He rubbed his jaw, feel

Georgina stood stiffly in front of Edward’s desk, brows slightly raised in confusion."No chores at all, sir?" she asked, careful not to show too much surprise.Edward didn’t lift his eyes from the papers he was pretending to read. "Yes. None. Assign her duties to the others. She’s not to lift a finger."Georgina hesitated. "What should I tell her if she asks why?"Edward looked up, his tone firm. "You’ll tell her nothing. Not a word about where this is coming from. Just make sure she has good food, clean clothes, and enough rest.""Understood, Sir,"Georgina left the room quietly, still trying to piece together what had caused the sudden shift. Lucille was the girl Edward couldn’t stand. Or so everyone thought. Two days later,Lucille stared at the empty bucket by her door for the fifth time, in a row. No laundry. No instructions. No one yelling her name. Meals appeared in her room, hot, well-prepared, and nothing like the leftovers she used to get.She ate. She rested. But most of a

“What?” Edward’s eyes widened in shock as he looked at him.“Did you... just ask that?” Edward stammered, blinking in disbelief.“Do you?” Mark repeated, looking right at him.“No!” Edward said quickly.“Or are you not sure?” Mark pressed.“What’s wrong with you?” Edward shook his head, surprised. “How can you even ask that?”“Because it looks like you do,” Mark said back. “You’re comparing her to Mabel.”Edward frowned. “No, I’m just pointing out Mabel’s flaws,” “But if Mabel were like Lucille, you would have thought about marrying her,” Mark said.Edward laughed. “That’s not true.”Mark frowned. “Eddy, I didn’t say that, you did.”Edward shook his head again. “I didn’t say that. I only said Lucille isn’t manipulative.”“You said it, Eddy, just a few minutes ago,” Mark said, looking confused. “What’s going on?”Edward looked away. “Did I really say that?” he whispered.Mark rubbed his face tiredly and looked back at Edward. “You’ve noticed everything about her. I mean Lucille, right
