My uncle was 12 years older than me, and he taught me a lot for the first time.

I liked him but didn't like the woman he brought back.

I hid outside his bedroom door, and my heart was bleeding.

Suddenly, the door opened.

A blushing woman stood in front of me. When she saw me, she was shocked.

Then he appeared behind her in a bathrobe.

“Who is this..." The woman leaned his arms and said coquettishly.

"My niece." He glanced at me and said lightly.

"Oh... she’s cute." The woman was shocked. Although she didn't figure out what was going on, she still stretched out her hand with a smile on her face.

I ignored her, just staring at him.

"Go." He said to the woman in an indifferent tone like he always did.

Over the years, there were many women he had brought back, but I still couldn't get used to it.

When the woman went out, he turned lazily and went back to his room.

Standing at the door, I gritted my teeth and followed him into the bedroom.

He was about to take off his bathrobe, but paused and slightly turned sideways when he saw me, "Sandra, go out."

"No." I stood there stubbornly.

He sighed slightly and didn't change his clothes. He took a cigarette, sat on the sofa, lit the cigarette, and looked at me through the smoke, "When did you come back? Why didn't I know?"

I had thought he would scold me for eavesdropping, and persuade me not to get any ideas about him, or even say ruthlessly that I should not come back to this home in the future if I didn’t give up…

However, he didn't, which made me unable to say my prepared lines.

"What if you knew? You still bring different women back." I couldn't control my emotions.

“Well, you’ve grown up and have a temper." He smiled, took a few puffs of his cigarette, and locked his eyes on my face, "How did you come back?"

"I took a bus." I didn't understand why he always beat around the bush with me.

He snuffed out his cigarette, walked to the door, opened it, and asked me to go out.

I froze in place for a few seconds. Seeing his serious face, I was afraid that he would get angry, so I had to walk towards the door.

"When you come next time, call in advance." He sounded severe and unquestionable.

I gritted my teeth and walked outside the door. I certainly disagreed, but I said nothing.

He stared at me. Seeing that I didn't speak, he couldn't help but sigh and soften his tone, "It must be uncomfortable on the bus. I will send someone to pick you up next time."

There seemed to be some emotions brewing in my heart. I turned around and looked into his deep eyes, "You are so good to me just because of my parents' entrustment?"

He froze for a moment, and then said slightly, "Yes."

His frankness hurt me deeply. I immediately turned around and held back my tears, "I don’t need such care."

With that, I turned and went downstairs without looking back.

His name was Bertram Hill, 32 years old.

I lost my parents at the age of 12 and had stayed at his house ever since.

When he introduced me as his niece and even gradually distanced himself from me, I felt very distressed.

I didn’t want to be his niece anymore. Now I just wanted to be his girlfriend.

I stayed in my room and stood in front of the mirror, sulking.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I wasn’t as sexy or eloquent as those women he brought back,

Just when I was complaining, I received a message from my roommate Jenny Hedy.

"Sandra, I went out tonight. If my mother calls you, tell her that I am with you."

I replied, "Okay."

Jenny was a master of love. She was only a sophomore, but she had had several boyfriends. I was envious of her because she was like a duck to water with men.

An idea crossed my mind.

I sent her another message, "Jenny, how do you get a man to like you?"

I instantly regretted it after I sent it. I was anxious and desperate.

"You will know the answer when you take your clothes off." Her reply was a little confusing.

I thought about it for a long time and finally figured out what she meant.

I found the black lace underwear in my wardrobe I had bought long ago and hurriedly put it on.

I took a good look at myself in the mirror, and I somehow felt a little embarrassed.

For a long time, I had been taught to be a nice and well-behaved young lady.

But when I thought that he had brought back so many women in the past few months, I bit the bullet, wrapped myself in a bath towel, and walked out.

It was dark outside. I didn't turn on the lights and walked towards the kitchen barefoot.

I stayed in the kitchen and waited for his arrival.

Due to heavy smoking, his throat was not very good, and he would come down to drink a glass of water in the middle of the night every day.

As expected, I heard the sound of him walking downstairs in his slippers.

The footsteps were getting closer and closer, and my heart was beating fast.

I told myself that I couldn't shrink. I loosened my bath towel a little bit.

After he came in, I could pretend to be startled, and the bath towel would slip naturally.

Everything seemed impeccable.

I looked forward to seeing him lose his mind...

When he came in, I screamed in surprise. But before my bath towel could slip, a suit jacket flew over and covered me from head to toe.

I was stunned.

"Why don't you turn on the light in the middle of the night?" His tone was calm.

I saw that he opened the refrigerator, took the water, took several gulps of water, and turned to leave.

During the whole process, I froze in place and felt restless.

In the end, I reached out and pulled down his suit with my bath towel.

"Bertram, I am not a child. I am 20." I had never been so brave in my life. I wanted to tell him how I felt.

"I'm also a woman. Can't you see it?"

I closed my eyes and said again.

But it was quiet around.

I opened my eyes. He was no longer in the kitchen. I could only see my tragic shadow in the moonlight.

He was gone?

So, had I just confessed my love to no one?

I felt terrible at this moment.

After a while, I got a message,

"I'll go to another city. I will ask Mr. Barret to take you back to school tomorrow."

I looked at the message and felt so disappointed.

I saw Bertram again half a month later at his parents' house.

During this period, apart from sending one or two messages to ask me if I had enough money, he had said nothing else.

I wanted to ask him why he had avoided me and sent me no messages.

But he brought a woman home, holding her hand. They looked very intimate at the dining table.

I couldn't eat anything and I was jealous.

I sent a message to Jenny under the pretext of going to the bathroom, "If a man has not called you for half a month, and only sent you one or two messages, what does this mean?"

"He is not interested in you." I could imagine how confident Jenny was, "Which man is it? Why haven't you gotten him yet?"

I held my phone in a daze, and I felt a little upset.

As expected, he was not interested in me.

"What does it mean when a man takes a woman back to his parent's home for dinner?" I still had the last trace of hope and unwillingness.

The next second, my hope was shattered again.

"It means that he loves this woman, and wants to spend the rest of his life with him. Did you go to the boy's house for dinner? Congratulations..."

She sent me another long message, but I didn't want to read it. I was heartbroken.

I didn't continue to eat but hid in Bertram’s room.

He didn't seem to notice anything wrong and took his clothes straight to the bathroom.

I gritted my teeth, took off my clothes, put on one of his shirts randomly, and went to the bathroom.

I stood in front of him with determination.

He was lying in the bathtub with closed eyes as if he was asleep. After a few seconds, he opened his eyes and looked a little surprised when he saw me. Then he frowned.

I felt uneasy under his gaze.

At this moment, I was afraid that he would be disappointed and angry with me and that he would never see me again.

He just reached out and rubbed his temples, as if he was trying to suppress his anger. Soon he calmed down.

"Why didn’t you have dinner?"

"No appetite." I bit my lips. I hated his occasional care, and even more his long-time indifference. The more I thought about it, the angrier I became. I simply asked him, “Are you going to marry the woman downstairs?”

He was stunned for a while, and suddenly looked serious, "This is not something you should care about."

"How could it be her?" I clenched my fists and my palms were sweating.

"Why can't it be her?"

"Because..." I was weighing whether it would be worth it if I spoke my mind, but I couldn't help but lose my mind, “I like you and I want to be with you."

The two of us were deadlocked for a few seconds.

He sighed helplessly, "Sandra, you’re kidding."

"I’m not. I'm serious."

"Do you know what you’re talking about?" He stared into my eyes, "I am your uncle."

"You are not." I refuted him, "We’re not even related. Why should I call you uncle?"

I was right. He fell silent, and just waved his hand, "You go out. You’re making a mistake."

"No." I didn't want to retreat. I wanted an answer.

He was probably cornered by me. He suddenly changed his voice and comforted me, "Sandra...be good. Go out. It’s good for you."

"I don't care." I was still stubborn.

"Some consequences are not what you can afford!" He finally got angry, and I was scared by his angry eyes.

Even so, I still didn't want to listen. I got excited and threw myself into the bathtub without thinking.

Under the bubbles was his warm body. I had imagined being so close to him many times. But when I got close to him, I felt so nervous that I froze.

Compared to my nervousness, Bertram was very calm.

The calmer he was, the more nervous I was.

In the end, I threw myself at him, but my face flushed with nervousness.

"Why don’t you get up?" His tone was a little hoarse and helpless.

I stretched out my hands and tried to get up, but I didn't know where to put my hands. His chest, his belly, his arms, or somewhere else? In the end, I gave up, crying, "I... can't get up."

He glanced at me and suddenly laughed. The next second, he reached out and pulled the bath towel to wrap me up. He lifted me out of the bathtub. Then he got up and put on a bathrobe with his back to me.

After putting on a bathrobe, he came over, handed me a towel and a hair dryer, and told me expressionlessly, "Blow your hair dry. I will ask Kara to come up later."

He turned to leave.

"Bertram." I couldn't help stopping him. I was afraid he would never talk to me again in the future.

He paused, “I’ll pretend I have never heard of anything today. Don't be so willful in the future."

With that, he walked out of the bathroom without hesitation.

I froze in place and burst into tears
