Accepting His Kindness

"There" Alpha Darren dropped his phone on the other sofa.

He had his right leg crossed over his left. The anger on his face seemed to get even more with every single passing second. The fact that she had dared to even try running away after what she had done.

His men had tried searching for her in her home which they had quickly figured out but it was discovered that she did not come back home.

Yeah, Darren knew it would be stupid of her to go home but he was expecting her to be at least that stupid to make things easier for him. He could not wait to lay his hands on that woman.

Lucy's father was in front of him, on his knees and Darren recognized him quite well. Her father was the head of a guard department until the last year when he had let his security be breached and Darren had been 'kind' enough to chop off just one of his fingers because Lucy's father had been working for him for long.

"Your life is in the hands of your daughter now. Take a look at the clock. Once it's four hours and she is not back here, you'd be dead"

Everyone knew he was not joking and his words made the older man on his knees shiver.

He had heard about what just daughter had done and he knew how much trouble he and his daughter was going to be in if the Alpha was not pacified but then what did he have to pacify the Alpha with.

Lucy panicked as she finished reading the message.

"We... We have to go back home" her words came out in a stutter.

"What? What message was that?" Madeline asked, wondering why they suddenly had to go back home.

"Alpha Darren... He... He is with my father. He is going to kill him if I don't get to him in four hours"

Madeline's eyes widened, she did not have to ask if it was a joke because it was clear it wasn't and she did not have to question herself about Alpha Darren being serious or not, she knew he was damn serious with whatever words he said.

"Let's... Let's go" she had no time to scold Lucy yet again for bringing them into this much trouble.

Even if she did not like the Alpha at all, rejecting him in public was her biggest mistake.

The both of them pulled themselves up and rushed out of the house.

"Sorry, Granny but we have to leave" Madeline announced.

"What? Why? What's going on?" The old lady asked but the two ladies only took turns kissing her cheeks and waving her a quick bye before running out without giving a response to her questions.

The next morning would inform the old lady about it as her neighbors would spread the news to her.

Both Lucy and Madeline scurried into the car and drove and Madeline drove this time around. She could not let the all shaky Lucy drive.

Lucy lowered her head as she regretted her actions even more. She had just put her father's life in danger because she wanted to kind of get back at the Alpha and do away with him also. Now, she only wished that she had the powers to travel back in time and hide throughout the party and remain unseen by him absolutely.

Her fingers played with each other as she tried to bring some calm to herself but it was just impossible for her to get to the point of calm.

Her palms had gone sweaty and her foot was tapping on the floor of the car repeatedly.

"C'mon, Madeline, drive faster. Time is going" She urged Madeline.

It was a sure thing that they would get back before the four hours elapsed. The drive was only a drive of about an hour and thirty minutes but they were only about twenty minutes into the drive when the car jerked to a halt.

"Wh... What just happened?" Lucy demanded to know.

"Goodness! I think we ran out of fuel" she gasped in response.

"Good heavens!" Lucy brought out her phone and checked the time.

She alighted from the car and looked around. They were in the middle of nowhere and it was obvious they would not be able to get a refill of the fuel tank anywhere.

The place was far too desolate with only talk bushes around them but Lucy was in the urgent need to get to the Alpha that she had rejected.

"I... I can't wait" she shook her head.

"I guess I'd have to run there" she mumbled.

"Alright then, let's do this" Madeline also alighted from the car. She knew her strength was inferior but she was willing to go with her best friend.

The both of them dropped the few things they had on them in the car and locked the car up before shifting into their wolf form. Lucy's wolf had a color similar to white but it wasn't the pure white color, her tail was strangely black in sharp contrast to her body fur.

Madeline's wolf was a little similar to that of Lucy except that she didn't have the black tail that Lucy had.

The both of them sprinted away, with Lucy going a lot more faster than Madeline. It wasn't just her strength that was making her go faster but also the pounding in her chest.

If she failed to be there in the stipulated time, her father would be killed. She was scared of that and would do anything to prevent the last family she had from dying.

"Well, well, there is an hour left" Darren shrugged his shoulders.

He was still on his seat and Lucy's father was still on his knees.

"I guess your life would be coming to an end tonight" He added and the older man quickly lowered his head to ask for mercy but at that moment, the one they had been waiting for barged into the place.

Lucy was still in her wolf form as she jumped into the living room of the Alpha and shifted into her human form, quickly getting on her knees, naked.

Darren's frown turned even deeper as she got on her knees.

"You..."

"Raise your head up"

"I do not dare raise my head up, Alpha" her voice was shaky with heavy breathing.

"Do not dare? But you dared to do that?!" He lost control and growled out his words but the next second, he took a deep breath and relaxed.

"I am sorry Alpha Darren. I was stupid to have rejected you in front of everyone. Please pardon me and let go of my father" she pleaded. She could do anything to make sure that her father was not hurt.

"Unfortunately for you, pardon is not a thing I usually do" his voice was laced with venom.

"Please have mercy, Alpha Darren" she raised her head up slightly to look at him.

"Point the gun to his head" Darren ordered and per his order, the beta placed the gun right at the head of Lucy's father.

Her heart skipped several more beats and her eyes quickly watered up.

"I am here!" She almost screamed.

"I did it! I humiliated you stupidly! Please... Please punish me and not him" she pleaded with quick tears filling up her eyes.

She looked at her father who was clearly terrified by the gun on his forehead after all it had been placed there with the orders of the Alpha.

Darren pulled towards the edge of the chair and grabbed her face, a bit roughly.

"I didn't say I wouldn't punish you too. He is just going to take the punishment for not training you well" he muttered with blazing eyes.

"He did..." Her voice cracked with tears.

"He did train me well but... But I am too disobedient. Please let him go" more tears flooded her eyes as she pleaded with him.

Darren could absolutely not tell what it was but he knew the sight of her in tears was not what he really wanted to see.

He let go of her cheeks.

"I'd be graceful just this one time" he pulled back and sat again, in his majestic way.

"Thank you... Thank you, Alpha Darren" she thanked him profusely.

"On one condition"

Those words made her stop and gulp. She wiped her tears away from her quickly becoming damped face.

"I.. I'll do anything, Alpha Darren"

"I'll give you the one chance to correct your mistake. You'd tell the people when the sun rises that your stupid words were only because you were shy and counted yourself totally unworthy of a great man like me"

Lucy nodded her head in absolute willingness to do what he wanted her to do.

"That's not all. You will have to become my bride, my Luna"

Her eyes widened.

How could he still want her after what she had done to him? But it was more about her, she did not want him at all and her mouth was way too sharp to recognize the situation that she was in.

"But I do not want you, Alpha Darren" the words slipped out of her mouth.

Darren's eyes blazed with anger and hatred. He was giving her a chance to amend her stupidity and she still had the guts to speak up.

"Take the gun back to his head" he growled out.

"Don't, please" she immediately begged him.

"I... The words just slipped out of my mouth. Please spare my father" she pleaded.

"Accept my kindness and I will let your father live"

Lucy slowly looked back at her father, the innocent man did nothing to be in the situation that he was in right now. She had brought this trouble upon herself and her father with her mouth.

"As you wish, Alpha Darren. I.... I accept your kindness"
